I am still trying to figure out the motive behind this reform.
Ill reserve my opinion until I understand further, the justification and need for the same.
Could it be an easier medium to strengthen the fundamentals of a child in his/her early developmental years?
Perhaps we don't have enough qualified English speaking teachers with enough mastery of English, that might interpret or explain concepts wrongly in their broken English to students?

At the end of the day, education and understanding concepts to be used in practical scenarios is key and superceeds everything else. Language being irrelevant in that endeavor.

It's not a Muslim language...I had learned Urdu as a child. There's a place in Delhi called "Urdu bazaar" which gave the language its name. I know there is an Urdu Bazaar in Lahore as well.

Delhi and Lahore should be twin cities, but we've got these horrible persons squatting over that beautiful city.

I love the old areas of Delhi...Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid, Mehrauli. There's an irresistible charm even today in those places.

Devanagari is one of the most perfect scripts. You basically write what you speak perfectly in it. There are no silent words like in English. Also, if you read it perfectly, you speak it perfectly.

For example, in English (Roman script), the pronunciation of 'o' in ghost and orange is different. So even if you read both words, an untrained English speaker won't be able to pronounce it. People reading Devanagiri don't have to second guess pronunciations of what they read and thus can speak perfectly. Devanagiri clearly trumps the Roman script here.
