India moves more troops to bolster frontline in east Ladakh

.
What is behind the latest tensions?

The stand-off in Galwan valley, according to reports, was triggered by China moving in troops and equipment to stop construction activity by India. Delhi says this was well within India’s side of the LAC. The LAC was thought to be settled in this area which has not seen many incidents in the past, but China now appears to think otherwise. The northern bank of Pangong lake has, however, been a point of contention where there are differing perceptions of the LAC.

The incident in Sikkim is somewhat unexpected as the contours of the LAC are broadly agreed to in this sector. The broader context for the tensions appears to be a changing dynamic along the LAC, as India plays catch-up in improving infrastructure there. China has enjoyed an advantage in infrastructure as well as terrain that is more favourable to mobilisation. Previous agreements between the two countries have recognised both sides’ need for “mutual and equal security”, implicitly taking into consideration the different — and more difficult — terrain on India’s side that hinders mobilisation from depth.

What a great read. Sounds like India has all its excuses lined up already for tomorrow's surrender.

Why more troops??

India being squeezed from all sides. Keep them busy at all fronts.

During WOT ( 2003-2016) , India brought war inside Pakistani territory. India was also able to push a narrative such as Pakistan being epicentre of terrorism. However things have changed now over in last 5 years.

After elimination of TTP in Afghanistan, along with killings of several anti Pakistan NDS and BLA members over last 6 months, Pakistan has finally started to focus on India. Given the current domestic pressure Modi government finds itself in, its high time that all Indian proxies are wiped out.

The only tactic that works against India is , pressure tactics which involves taking war back to India. Since Aug 2018 when Imran Khan became PM, India's soft image has been eroded by a narrative pushed by Khan's government and diplomats including foreign missions in several countries. Biggest proof is Imran Khan's UN speech or just check Imran Khan's twitter account. This erosion in soft image has been reinforced by Modi government's stupidities and diplomatic errors. When people in west see images of Muslims being lynched and butchered or Hindus destroying mosques they certainly realise that India is not all glamour and diversity. The hinduvata ideology floated by BJP, didn't help either. The deportation of several Indians from Gulf state is an example, where Indians are now seen with suspicion.

The ground realities are changing rapidly, India has to respond/adapt quickly. Panic is evident within military and diplomatic circles of India. Modi is increasingly becoming a security risk for Indian state, but the establishment doesn't have enough spine to take him down.

Average altitude is 3000 metres longterm stays can lead to health problems. Hope they enjoy the desolate surroundings of Ladakh. Wonderful life the average indian soldier has.

3000m is fine..altitude issues start at 400m and above. I know is spend a lot of time in the mountains. The terrain and loneliness is a big issue. Communication with loved one is also hard so morale is effected.

Weren't Indians ready to fight a 2-front war?? They don't even know where their backside is and here they are trying to fight two nuclear powers!! :omghaha:
I think China is protecting its investment in Pakistan. 62 billion dollars is no throwaway money. India thinks it can walk in and take what it likes from 0alostan and because of the big mouth 2 front war. The Chinese are taking what they want when they want and the indian again caught with pants down. This is real world not Bollywood and no heroes

.
India has matching strength in Ladakh region so if thr is standoff India can put same or more number of troops against China..
Things wont get serious other than some random fist fights come couple of months both troops go back and India will start building more infra which worries china... the day a bullet is fired china has much to lose than India

.
we will see more videos of kick boxing and kabaddi. it is better to send kabbadi players rather then soldiers to laddakh.
Its one side beating other.
Indians don't have the guts to even look in the eyes of Chinese soldiers.
I don't understand why r they being issued weapons when they r never going to use it?
Indian new doctrine is to deploy weapons where needed. So Indian army should take the weapons iof all its soldiers on LAC and shift them to other borders.

Will China capture Ladakh, Sikkim, AP etc. without firing s single shot?!?! Even during the Stone Age folks used to put up more “bloody” fights....

Indians taught Chinese the art of non-violence. First by Buddhism then by Gandhi-Nehru and Panchsheel. It is said that Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment in Indian state of Bihar.
