India Modifies Brahmos Missile With New Nav System

capable of hitting targets over 180-300 miles (300-500 km), from sea, land and air launchers

The article is not saying that the missile has a range of 500Km, but between 300 and 500Km. Launched from IAs or INs ground launchers it has the commonly expected 290Km according international regulations. But launched from IAFs MKI, at high altitude and speed, the range can be further extended. It first will glide like any PGM, then will use it's own propulsion to climb again, just like the French AASM for example.

But it definatly say ungraded. And why would one upgrade existing navigation system of "tested" misisle ???

I think Brahmos itsef was built with 500Km range and decleared 300Km range initially. And this upgrade news is just officially accepting it

:smitten: i am waiting for heaters now. O-T - so now we using golness in full swing?:victory:

To improve the precision of course, since it makes a big difference if the missile hits the target with an error of 1m for example, or 10m right?
The Jakhont missile was build for more range, but unless we get the same propulsion kit, our Brahmos won't offer the same, but even if we have it, the forces would never admit it.

Only possible explanation.
