We need more push for basic infrastructure, try to start massive project for rail based transportation, next phase of R & D for thorium based N-Power plants , this will reduce our dependency on oil.We need big push ion electronics industry , as world is advancing and our middle class is buying more and more electronics stuff, our big chunk of foreign import is it. Good powerful electronics industry will give new push for high technology industry for next decade.

That's not possible though. The barrier to entry in the electronics industry is getting higher and higher. That is because you not only have to catch up to what the current skill level is, you have to surpass it to gain market share as a new company. The current price for a foundry capable of producing the latest processors is several billion USD. India will probably never have a native foundry, ever.

I agree for a lot of your points including the one on electronics where you wanted to have local swadeshi products manufactured in india, if you are all for swadeshi then you have to be a person who does not drink coke and pepsi and chose local drink over these two brands if not atleast stop buying them from tomorrow onwards as these are taking away the indian money like any thing else

You are very smart. However, the vast majority of people are brainwashed by what they see on TV, and in India, TV shows Coca Cola, Pepsi, and American brands being popular. That leads to slavish consumption of foreign products.

the nxt 10 yrs of growth will come from extremely high investment in infra structure and manufacturing and power.

indian invested 400 billion in infrastructure last 5 yrs and over 1 trillion is set to be in nxt 5 yrs. last year alone india started cons of 10000 km highways.
manufacturing policy will be implemented by august this year and dmic is starting cons this year. every japanese company wants to make it their main maanufacturing base. japan holds 26% stake in the project.

india has enough of services, now our govt is preparing ground to go china way.

guys there is nothing to worryy. indian savings rate is approaching close to 40% of gdp and soon will be 50%. we have enough to maintaine economic growthnof 9%. will high investment in infra this will go upto 12%. its about time.

its not that easy to just "invest" in infrastructure and manufacturing. Every year that is delayed, it gets harder. That is because the state of the art in manufacturing moves quickly, but worse, builds on previous knowledge. If you just invite Japanese companies in, sure, that'll solve employment, but that doesn't mean India would be a strong manufacturing country.

Services isn't that way. I program in C. I don't need to know assembly to program in C. For the purposes of my work (numerical analysis and modeling), I can pick up a book on C, pick up a book on numerical analysis, and within 1 month be writing useful software. Within a year, someone could learn several languages and be up to date on most recent techniques.

INDIA is not a poor nation as you think, we have enough money to set up the infrastructure you are taling about, but a lack of interest is the issue as we find it cost effective to buy it from large scale producers like CHINA, but when we find or realize that its not worth going for a purchase from any other country we will build a factory of our own.

We have high regards for the CHINESE growth and achivement but atlast its PDF and here every one despices each based on the country flag he bears in his/her profile.

and yesterday I had a CANADIAN CHINES girl named Stepheni wang visited my farm to understand the agricultural methods that we have developed for automatic irigation and manuring system and she says CHINA and INDIA are no different in peoples hospitality and was happy to be here in INDIA.

It's not about the money. Even if you set up a foundry, you have to have technology superior to the current foundries by far or costs lower by far, otherwise no one is going to risk going to a new foundry for orders. Now, costs are mostly machinery in these foundries, and logistics are the biggest limitations for throughput, so the biggest limitations aren't even the machinery cost, but the logistics needed to beat other foundries.

any way thanks for the concern if we both who are not having enough data at hand can talk day in and day out on this topic, i am sure that the policy makers and industrial gaints have some road map on how to capitalize in manufacturing sector based on tons of data that we have never come accross.

okk first of all indian construction companies have all the state of the art technolgies, they r building project all over the world. but until 2007 indian govt didnt have a clear vision for infra. now we know investiong in infra is the way forward. the 90 billion doll manufacturing centre coming up is not only for japan. it is a 100% foreign investment zone connected to biggest ports currently under cons. japan has asked india that since manufacturing in japan is now extremely expensive they wanna make india their base for future. india is now 5th largest car manufacturing base also fastest growing.
our main aim is to make india a biggest manufacturing base thats what will bring growth.

moreover china was extremely rapid in last 15 yrs in building up manufacturing capacity, but now its starting to slow. china has already built all the ghost cities and bridges that lead to nowhere. ur govt is cutting steel production from this year and also cancelling new train projects.
