Chhattisgarh man hacks mother to death, tries to fry her

RAIPUR: Furious at being denied money for liquor, a drunkard axed his mother to death and then sat down to cannibalise her on Tuesday, police said in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh. The accused, 32-year-old Sitaram Uraon of Kharsia, was frying bits of his mother in a pan when a relative came by and witnessed the scene. Uraon fled but was tracked down and arrested on Wednesday. Police aren't sure he is mentally stable. Uraon would come home drunk almost daily and beat his mother, 50-year-old Phoolbai, for money to buy more liquor, police have found.
