India: Lucknow: 4-month-old baby dies after being 'raped' by 30-years old.

LUCKNOW: A four-month-old baby girl from Hardoi who had come to Lucknow with her parents was killed allegedly after sexual assault on Sunday night in Madiaon.

The father of the infant has filed an FIR accusing his 30-year-old nephew of raping and murdering his daughter. While police have registered a case of rape and murder, they said rape would be confirmed after autopsy. The accused, Pappu was arrested on Monday night.



The baby and her parents had come to attend the wedding of a relative in Daudnagar area on Sunday. Around 7pm, while the baby was in the lap of her mother, the accused, her cousin, reached there. He said he wanted to play with her and took her away. Two hours later, around 9pm, the baby's family started looking for her but she or the cousin could not be found. This led to panic among the family members and other villagers also joined in the search.

After a while, villagers found the baby lying near the wedding lawn in an unconscious state. The accused was with her.

The parents of the baby rushed to the spot and identified the girl as their daughter and took her to Vivekananda Polyclinic, said Madiaon police. However, in the ensuing chaos, the accused managed to escape though he was arrested the next night.




Doctors referred the baby to KGMU trauma centre, where she was declared brought dead.




Deputy commissioner of police, north zone, Sarvashresth Tripathi told media that doctors at KGMU informed police on Monday morning. He added that rape would only be ascertained after the autopsy report arrives.




On the basis of the complaint filed by the victim's father, a case of murder, rape, kidnapping for murder, and other sections of POCSO was lodged. The parents of the victim said they did not wish to talk about the incident.

I dont understand what you expect by posting such tragic things? As if my condolences here would make it right for their families. Its a problem plaguing our society. But you guys post this up for fun instead of real concern. Even your country has serious child assault and rape problems. Dont just put it up for some kind of reaction and win an argument.

Police in Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province of Pakistan, on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a young man who is suspected of being behind the sexual assault and murder of an eight-year-old girl, Madiha, in the area.

The rape and murder of Madiha has sent shockwaves across the country, triggering a firestorm on social media.

Twitterati started the trend #JusticeForMadiha with every tweet expressing sorrow and condemnation over the barbaric act.

The body of the victim, who was shot dead after the assault, was found in a deserted area of Thall Tehsil’s Sarokhel village on Sunday.

The minor girl's killer is her first cousin who confessed to his crimes during initial interrogation, Hangu District Police Officer (DPO) Shahid Ahmed said.

He said blood samples found on the victim's body had matched those collected from the 18-year-old suspect.

According to the DPO, the families of the victim — who had gone missing on Saturday night — and the suspect live together in a joint house.

"The suspect took the minor girl to a deserted area and attempted to rape her," the police officer told DawnNewsTV.

He said that the motive behind the killing was rape but whether rape had occurred would become clear after the forensic report of the samples is received from a laboratory.

DPO Ahmed revealed that after killing his minor cousin, the suspect had joined the girl's family members in searching for her through the night.

He also participated in a protest against the child's killing and attended her funeral, Ahmed said. Police also recovered a pistol from the suspect.

Police have shifted the suspect to Kohat for investigation.

The case has renewed the debate of capital punishment or hanging such criminals in public.
