You guys want to believe that, go ahead and believe. :P

Our standing is based on our own accomplishments, we did not send Chandrayaan with US help did we? :azn:

And that's just one example, I can get you a million more.

The American did provide you help Sir. You need to look up your own news papers which reported the news.

You can keep your millions, I generally agree with the writers geopolitical assessment about India.

The writer, Colin Todhunter, as quoted in the site, has spent many years in India. He has written extensively for the Bangalore-based Deccan Herald, New Indian Express and Morning Star (Britain).

You can not just brush it aside in this manner.
There are many writers of Times of India too lives in India for long time, where was your genious mind when they write something..
So all in all u trust the article which India bashing.. well done..
@topic : There are more examples which shows that India is not in any ones pocket, it is free as it the founder member of NAM and it has got a force which can kick the a$$es of anyone who wants to keep it in its pocket..

.....When the Soviet Union fell apart, there was much talk from the US of a multi-polar world,...... In the wake of the collapse of the USSR, the US has been hell-bent on achieving global superiority.......unately for the Obama regime, it’s no longer the early 1990s when the US believed it reined supreme and Russia was in disarray and China still relatively weak. China has emerged as a genuine global player and Russia has a new-found confidence under Putin..Itstakes game because some within the Pentagon think it’s better to draw China into a military conflict now, when it can still be defeated, rather than laterWith this in mind, it is always revealing to see how the Indian media reacts when a high-ranking US politician visits its shores. The US is pressurising India to reduce its imports of Iranian oil and to open up it economy further to its powerful corporate players,‘globalisation’ project has led to maximal gains for a minority but minimal gains for the great mass of ordinary folk, while causing great turmoil as state-corporate players gain free rein to loot the country for their own gains.Unfortunately, ‘independence’ for India is almost becoming a euphemism for living in the pocket of the US.

Although it hurts but its true.

I am not saying that. Probably the writer has also not said that.

However, one thing is clear that India doesn't have any other place align herself with except America and her western allies.

Which also means that your own standing in the world is essentially based on American give aways.

Cold war and fantasy with communism has not ended for many people.

What a funny allegation...

You were not in the pocket of Uncle Sam when the U2 crisis happened, when you needed the arms and ammunition, when you needed the F-16s,when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan, and even now?Even now,US send huge amounts donation to Pakistan every year.
Since the creation of Pakistan the country has either been in bed with US or China, while India has been a part of NAM and almost continuously under sanctions/bans/trade embargoes. Its only now that the US cannot resist the huge market here anymore, doesnt mean that we are in Uncle Sam's pocket. Our stance remains just the same- Non-aligned.
Until and unless you stop behaving like a climber plant and stop taking others' support to stand, nothing good is going to happen to you.

Sir, please discuss bout India.

Where was India when the US was using Chinese huge market.

And what help? I'd like to point out first, that giving a hint in passing does not qualify as help. Has NASA sit down with ISRO for years planning out the whole thing? Has NASA sold any tech to ISRO? Except a few of the instruments we delivered, which were made by NASA, what else is American there?

You agree with any India bashing assessment, if the same guy says something good about India, he's a propoganda tool, right?

I don't consider the article as India bashing. He has expressed his viewpoint about India. You may not agree with him. But many of views about India are generally correct.

Agreed - that is why, you don't have an option.

However, Pakistan does but we are not discussing Pakistan here.

Yes, the middle option..Non Alignment. We attended NAM summit in Tehran a few days ago even when USA & Israel was crying hoarse about it.

But then again, if China tries to become a Asian overlord, we may have to change our stands.

You got wrong info friend, Chandrayan was launched by India and nasa send it equipment on the vehicle.. nasa didn't assist isro..
Yes the device which found water on moon, was from nasa.. if I m not wrong..

Cold war and fantasy with communism has not ended for many people.

na na ..... it has probably ended with many outside India. But within India, I don't know - the NAM-2 was cheerfully attended by the Indians.

Title should be "India is pick-pocketing Uncle Sam"..........................................:)
