India Lets U.S. Down on Iran

. .
The country that benefit the most is China. Previously the US was taken for granted that India would toe her every line in many international issues. Now she finds out otherwise. This will prompt her to be more cordial in dealing with China.

USA's relations with China are quite independent of that of India, considering that on core issues of Sino-US relations such as North Korea, Taiwan have little to do with India.

India only figures in the future strategy of US to counter China in the Indian Ocean.

In truth, Americans expect nothing from India. India has never been a friend to the USA. India has been a "prickly non-aligned" mystery to most Americans. I have often marveled at how the USA and China have developed an economic co-operation that, more logically, should have developed with India instead. I believe it did not develop with India because India's emotional scars from being under the colonial thumb of Britain have prevented it from trusting an alliance with any other nation that has the potential of being the dominant partner. Ironically China's self confidence allowed it to accept extremely heavy western investment over the past three decades, to China's great benefit. But, China's rise on the tide of western technology and investment could have been India's rise .....

Well Nixon didn't like India during that time :D.

Yes because the cold war was a myth and US supporting Pakistan during the cold war was just made up. The reason of India not siding with the US are pretty simple we had a better relationship with Russia/Soviet Union and they had supported us for a long time, and they aren't the most pro American country. And if you are forgetting it was the US that imposed sanctions on India, and then you wonder why we won't agree on the things. Lets not forget that the US was also supplying Pakistan with weapons, so I guess this much answers your question.

The problem was that the US was on the wrong side on a whole range of issues. Mossadegh coup, Allende coup, Contras, Bangladesh, Vietnam etc etc.

This is why no one will help india when she is in trouble , a fine example of back stabbing her friend

when you know nobody will help you in your bad time ..you are going to become more and more self reliant day by day...

and i can see that in india's development: domestic and private-public sector(ONGC, IOC, COAL INDIA, REliance, TATA, TCS, Infosys, L&T) driven economic growth(e.g. Biggest middle class pool), acquiring western weapon technology more than weapon(MRCA, FGFA, BARAK, PAD AAD, ACC, NUKE SUBS)...space(IRNSS, GAGAN) , medical science(AIMS), Energy(Nuke Power, Wind Power), Agriculture developent ..and one more imp thing The Indian Immigrant, they stationed in almost all top jobs around the world to change the mind-set of their think-tank.

So, IMO I am more worrrieb abt india for this decade till 2020...in Coming decades i dont know world will rotate around India or not, But India can rotate smoothly around her boundaries. So as after 2020 it i dont know India needs which nation in-favor of her but i am damn sure all biggies will need INDIA>>...JAI HO

Another big truth is India never fits well in the so called {"Ally"} definition of USA and never will be because India's definition of {"Ally"} is allot different then of USA's.

For India its own Interest are its first priority. Just Like US itself :)

preaching those who had the term ally shoved down the mouths of all the countrymen ?
It is only now they are taking it out slowly and slowly ;)

.
well ranting and such aside ,I don't think let U.S. Down
or Slap the face or such is correct for the situation
I guess everybody in US must have expected this it's
Economic and the only things that matters are what you
can offer ,Us wanted to replace Iran Oil with KSA oil and
Iran just made an offer on the price that no one else could
compete with it.
It was an opportunity for both India and Iran, Iran get the
investment that it needed so much and India can help himself
by replacing EU when Iran go to buy things as India is the only
place you can spend Rupee in . now somebody may say that
Iran could get Dollar and invest the money itself ,but you must
not forget the money is not all that is to investment right now
it was very hard for Iran to import new technologies and we had
to spend years to re invent them but now the investors themselves
bring in new technologies

about the china well we simply just import more goods from them
as we export oil to them so there really won't be any problem if we
do all our transaction in Yuan ,it simply remove a middle currency
and make things simpler.
