Possibley Q1, 2012 i.e 6-8 months from now, i.e around the same time as induction of INS-Teg ( Talwar Class ) from Russia.

Next line of frigates will be very interesting..7 of them will be inducted..

Swwet!!! Didn't know that the LRAD had been supplied to IN:

But apparently quite a few IN ships are fitted with it-

INS Satpura (F-48), along with INS Shivalik and the three existing Project 15 Delhi-class DDGs, three Project 16 Godavari-class FFGs and three Project 16A Brahmaputra-class FFGs have all been fitted with *the 1000Xi long-range acoustic hailing device built by US-based LRAD Corp.

good old IN,going about their business in a smart, silent and effective way.

Yes with limited R&D budget We cant bother to develop those equipments which are easily available.
In other words We cant waste our limited R&D budget on making these equipment and we don't believe in RE.
