India - Italy relations deteriorating. Rome summons Indian envoy.

lol No I was relying on Indian news sources claiming that Indian leaders bow to an Italian called Sonia

A Happy New Year of Sychophancy for Sonia Gandhi - India Real Time - WSJ

Thats not an Indian news source, it is the wall street journal, and it is american. What you linked is their blog, not a news source. Sonia gandhi is an indian citizen, not italian. Only few people can make so many mistakes in such a short sentence.

Also: She is the president of a political party, and so obviously people in that party may bow to her. But that does not equate to indians or even the government bowing to her. This is India, not china - party and government are different.

Anyway we all know that these pointless one liners from some people are only meant to derail the thread, not even they really believe that sonia gandhi is furiously slapping people in her home because of this incident. Or if you really believe that, I'm not sure I should waste time on people who really don't know how the world works.

If that was true then there would be no trials agains the Italians and they would have been sent back to Rome.

I am sorry to bring this up but this is the only recent similar incident i can think of right now...An American had killed 2 Pakistanis in Lahore and under pressure from the US Govt Pakistan had to release them..we on the other hand are not bowing down under pressure even if this spoils the relations.

Westerners have no respect for our lives and need to be taught a lesson...gone are the days of past when a Westerner ordered to kill 100s of Indians and face no consequences.India is a major power now and wont bow down to anyone.

you are talking about raymond davis incident
its funny how pakistani are not in indian favor regarding this issue when raymond davis killed some pakistani they started crying justice however their gov released the killer for blood money whereas in india even though we have been offered money we will go through the justice process this is difference between india and pakistan and as far as Italy they can do whatever they can lets c what can they do

if the Italians want , let them hire the best defense attorney . fight the case in court , and if they are innocent they will be set free. if they loose they still have the option of appeals in a higher court and then the supreme court. its called due process.

we have an independent judiciary , unlike some other countries.:)

Have a closer look at your at your "independent" judiciary:

Discrimination in Judiciary

India’s subordinate courts have a backlog of over 22 million cases while the 21 high courts and the Supreme Court have 3.5 million and 32,000 pending cases (2006). In subordinate courts, over 15 million cases are filed and an equal number disposed of annually by about 14,000 judges! Every year a million or more cases are added to the arrears. At the current speed, the lower courts may take 124 years for clearing the backlog. There were only 13 judges for every million people.

Recently a parliamentary committee blamed the judiciary for keeping out competent persons of downtrodden communities from “through a shrewd process of manipulation”. Between 1950 to 2000, 47% of Chief Justices and 40% of Judges were of Brahmin origin!. Dalits and Indian aborigines are lesser than 20 out of 610 judges working in Supreme Court and state high Courts. “This nexus and manipulative judicial appointments have to be broken, it urged”. [Parliamentary standing committee report on Constitutional Review, Sudarshan Nachiappan]. Among 12 states with high-Muslim population, Muslim representation in judicial sector is limited to 7.8%. (Justice Sachar Report).

According to the National Crime Records Bureau, only 31 per cent criminal trials are completed in less than a year. Some take even more than 10 years. According to its study, Crime in India 2002, nearly 220,000 cases took more than 3 years to reach court, and about 25,600 exhausted 10 years before they were completed. The term of the Liberhan Commission, formed 14 years ago to probe the demolition of the Babri mosque in Ayodhya and originally given a mandate of three months, has been extended again!

With all this you can argue that the judiciary is slow, inefficient... maybe even discriminatory. But willing to be influenced by a foreign power? I'd like to see you argue this one.

Having said that, your source is the same blog that you've been parroting for I don't even know how long.

Copy-pasta doesn't make you look smart Aryan_B. Sorry! :)

How is the above even remotely anything to do with Discrimination in Judiciary
?

The above para as an example of discrimination in judiciary, reflect upon one's poor sense of judgement. Show me any nation on this planet where judges appointed are an equal reflection of the ethnic demographics in the nation.

Now i think you are going to insult yourself by continuing your Masochistic ritual of posting this repeatedly , receiving counter arguments and not replying to them, reflecting your intellectual maturity.

Sonia is naturalized Indian. Her husband was an Indian. (Trolls should learn meaning of Naturalization). Bowing to big leaders is common practise in India.

Italy is no US, and Americans hold much more leverage over Pakistanis then Italians over Indians. in the end, whatever happens, those 2 guys will almost certainly be sent home to Italy either aquitted of charges or spending their time in jail.

Call me biased but i dont think they would be shooting fishermen for the lulz.

They were so ignorant that they didnt know where they would find Somali pirates.Maybe next time the Italians would like to educate their marines before sending them to duty.

Secondly,India is not Pakistan either be it USA or Italy.Had this been a case of US Marines shooting and killing 2 Indian the result would have been the same.Italy is just another western country which has a superiority complex..the head of state even called Obama tanned.
