India is Shopping for Nine Bizjets for Special-Missions

No one likes UK in Europe... US puppet- dont have their own foreign policy... plus many reasons..

one comes in mind, Europe is in such a big crisis... and UK don't care. Not even makes false promises to help in near future.
So u can think, if they can stand with Europe when we need them...
I don't believe they will stand by India when and if India needs... Simple

Germany is EU's most financially strong nation..........

And now they're suffering economically coz' of their alignment policy with US, their aerospace industry is almost non-existent now.

oye.. stop UK bashing guys. UK din't ask European countries to go for single currency. It's a eurozone crisis invited by themselves. They need to figure out how to get out of this self inflicted tangle!!

Yes but similarly no one in Eurpoe asked the UK to make themselves the US b**ch and the "unsinkable" ACC off Europe. In some pathetic atempt to remain relevant the UK has pushed itself on the US hand over fist but, ironically, systematically destroyed its own national security apparatus and reduced war fighting capacities in the hope that the US will "pick up the slack"! Well the US has no real affection for the UK. They know exactly what the Uk are doing and massage the UK's ego enough so the piddle doesn't get too upset. This was all uncovered by Wikileaks, the US ambassador to UK explicitly said that Obama should try and use the phrase "Special relationship" as often as possible on his visit to UK. It is truly a pathetic state of affairs the UK is now in and the feelings of closeness are purely one sided- the US has more exercises with India than it now does with the UK, this should tell you something.

Hey Abingdon.. whatever you have quoted above maybe true. But.. as long as UK's economy stays stable.. GBP remains strong, my interests are looked after, i will have no problem with anything else. Despite UK being a outclassed EU country, still immigrants prefer UK over any other european Country. Why? maybe UK must be doing something right compared to rest of Europe.

Language I would guess?

That's not correct, UK is facing the same problems, because it's a financial crisis in Europe in general, not only the Eurozone. If UK would be in the Euro, it would have to be bailed out by Germany and others like Ireland, Greece..., because their dept is as problematic, guess why they have to cut everyting so much.

They simply have the advantage of the language, most Indians for example prefer UK over Germany, Swiss or Austria, because they would have to learn a new language.

Hello...this thread is about India acquiring SIGINT aircrafts, not UK bitching Europe.

True, this would be my choice:

EMB 145 MULTI INTEL

img_zoom_145rsags_proven.jpg

The EMB 145 MULTI INTEL is an advanced Remote Sensing / Airborne Ground Surveillance and Intelligence aircraft capable of providing real-time imagery and signals intelligence over ground objectives. It is equipped with an extensive sensor suite ranging from high-performance synthetic aperture radar to electro-optical sensors, in addition to communications and electronic exploitation systems capable of gathering complete intelligence information...

Embraer Defense Systems

If MoD had a little sense of combining requirements, they would go for the EMB 145 as the platform for more DRDO AWACS (IAFs and INs shorebased requirement), for Mulit Intel (IAFs and RAWs requirement) and could even buy the MPA version (INs MRMR requirement). All of them fitted with either with Indian, Brazilian Israeli techs to make them very capable, but most importantly for the easy of logistics, maintenance and reduced costs!

.
RAW ARC are more than likely to go with Isreal's offering. Israel has been a good and reliable freind to India and their offer doesn't come with strings attached like US. The European/Brazilian offering is unlikely to meet RAW's criteria and will be outclassed by Israeli/US offerings.

Guess who makes the Gulfstream aircrafts the Israelis uses and how many of these techs are co-developed with the US? Dassault is another option:

South Korea boosts ISR capabilities with Dassault Falcons
By Guy Anderson
12/29/2011

South Korea is to augment its airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities with the purchase of two Dassault Falcon 2000 reconnaissance aircraft.

The acquisition was announced by the country's Defence Acquisition and Programme Administration (DAPA) on 26 December and was relayed by local news sources.

The DAPA statement suggested that the aircraft will enter service around 2017 and will replace a number of South Korea's ageing RC-800 assets.

The value of the DAPA procurement was not disclosed, although the basic value of the Falcon 2000 in conventional configuration is approximately USD32 million per unit.

Seoul's acquisition of the Falcon aircraft is consistent with ongoing efforts to reduce long-standing dependence on US-controlled assets for signals and image intelligence (SIGINT/IMINT).
