Well.. leasing was when india was not a member of MTCR and russia was.. so officially russians cant sale long range missile and subs.. but it can give it on lease.. that was a loop hole.. and india exploited it fully.
True. But I guess maintenance would be too demanding and the Ruskies would take us for spin on that too.

Tbh.. until and unless you are not 100% efficient.. every one will try to gain on you and make some profit.. thats not limited to Rus or US... we cant blame them.. their own economy was mess.. so it hampered Indian weapon acquisitions. But you cant forget Rus did what for India.. and no other country can even come close. Thats something you can write back home.

First of all Russians will not sell their top end strategic assets to India,no one will. Secondly tu160 is actually a long range missile carrier not a pure bomber and we don't pisses any such missile now which can exploit tu160 fully.
India buys this, India buys that.
India buys the whole defence industry of France, Israel, Russia, the US, GB, Germany etc etc.
India is such a spendthrift.
Indians seem to forget that their's is a tiny 2 trillion dollar economy with close to 1.3 billion mouths to feed.
