India insults Pakistani FM on his maiden official tour to India for SCO Meetup

Ooooh, sarcastic!

Let me retire and return after applying ointments and unguents (please, you at the back, stop shouting Burnol).
I actually have to learn to be polite. This sarcasm doesn't help me at home or anywhere. I do apologize if any disrespect perceived. Young blood can at times transgress.
I am sorry to hear about the arrest of Imran Khan.
Why tho? It's not like Pakistani nation is gonna revolt. Nothing short of revolution can change the fate of our nation and we are cowards.
e that GoI doesn't want to continue to participate in the pretend peace & dialog preachings (the last 75 years were enough probably)
Apparently, nobody pretends anything when a delegation is sent to Pakistan for counter-terrorism and delegation of so called terror state is welcomed for counter-terrorism. The irony.

Cricket can't be played but military and defence exchanges can happen between a 'victim' and 'terrorist'.

Dear Sir,

I would not like to rile up my friends from Pakistan at this hour as this is a highly volatile & emotional time, specially in view of IK's arrest today, which is highly condemnable. Specially the way the way it was done. Also, I would like to take this opportunity to remind the general populace of Pakistan to remain optimistic and to keep pushing towards the pursuit of much needed political change and stability. I have nothing against the general populace of Pakistan. As a matter of fact, I have many Pakistani friends here, with whom I have more than cordial & brotherly relationship. I have hosted many of them to break their Ramadan fast & for Iftari and have attended their home for similar reciprocal gestures.

As for the bolded part, all I'll say is that, had BBZ also behaved like the CT delegations from India and Pakistan, which was also a part of SCO activities, (i.e. just do the job he came to do aka SCO and not preach peace and international law), I infer that even Jayshankar would have pretended to not understand the journalist's questions.

That being said, I, by no means, am saying that GoI is doodh ka dhula huwa (sparkly clean). By not playing cricket, they are obviously trying reduce revenue generated by PCB/ GoP. However, even after all the chest thumping by earlier IK, now BBZ and from India too, I am pretty sure that a lot of small scale (visible) & large scale (back channel) engagements are still happening over the years.

We are now a certified banana Republic 🍌
Sir, while Jaishankar is far more qualified to occupy the chair that he does, you are being too kind to him. He too is a beneficiary of connections. His dad was a prominent bureaucrat, close to the Congress and played a key role in getting him plum postings much before BJP came into the picture. I am not belittling his achievements, but it's a bit like Bollywood. Many babus dream of plum roles, but few get them. For a small minority it is sheer talent and grit that works, for the vast majority of others connections do the trick. And once you are in the saddle, the going is a lot easier.

Don't worry.

I have to learn to take it, as well as dish it out. If @waz sees this exchange, he'll be rolling on the floor laughing. Or @Chute.

Heavens above, you took the words right out of my head. Not my mouth, feeling tired and groggy, but it is so, so what I want to say myself.

A thousand thanks for saying what I wish to be saying.

Suddenly PDF seems to be filled with Indians who make me feel good, once again.

Yes PDF - staff bhai is good sort deep down....with very good developed sense of humour (a sign of good wit in the end)...from what I have seen. He had an earlier name or two on forum (it changed to "PDF" while I was away from watching this forum for an extended period earlier.... but I recognise him quite easily past that all because of the particular good-spirited mischief he quite enjoys to get into).

As for folks like Hembo, it is common theme on 3rd party foreign shores in general (be it Middle East, UK and North America which are the main meeting grounds for those bequeathed that opportunity, though Waz can tell you an awful lot about Singapore too)....that there is often quite good camaraderie between Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans etc....

Shared language + origin neighbourhood is such a big deal in the end when you are minority group on another's turf.

I grew up with Cantonese as you know already and making my Mandarin catch up to it slowly....Chinese language in general is such immense "ice breaker" among Chinese people wherever they are.... it automatically makes kinship compared to say (2nd, 3rd gen etc) Chinese people on foreign shores that didnt learn the language or have very loose command of it.

I always tell kids and young people anywhere to learn Chinese as much as possible early for that very reason (the grammar is ridiculously easy)....it will serve them very well as so much more will become accessible to them. A huge amount of xenophobia/suspicion goes away when you prove cultural investment right off the bat.

It's the same everywhere. At least he has a CV of note while our billo rani CV is limited to his late mother's name.
