INDIA -Inject Poison to Muslim COVID-19 Patients, Dr Aarti Lalchandani suggests

The housing industry and its workers ( engineers, architects, laborers ) can be reassigned to build thousands of townships across the country. And introduce 3D Printing technology to save time and labor.

The automobile industry certainly needs to be streamlined, efficient and its workers need to be largely reassigned and can be. Think of all the chaos and pollution a more scientific transportation will bring.

What about the consumer goods industry ?
Capitalism Rules. Money is God

. . .
Keep chanting that. One day when you are in money trouble...
Already told you before. I have been fired from my job, had a situation where I just had 5-6 thousand in my account. I have even failed exams and had to repeat one year in engineering.

But I am not a loser. I didn't commit suicide or blame the system. I certainly didn't embrace socialism. Nor did I want anybody to take pity on me. I am not a freeloader to live on other people's money.

I did hard work and bounced back. Now I am in a stable position. If in the future also if something bad happens I have the confidence to take care of it.

To answer your question the day I am in money trouble I will redouble my efforts and overcome it.

So yes
Capitalism rules. Money is God.

The reason you don't understand me is that you want a victim to cry on. I am not a victim. I am a fighter.

I don't want anyone to take care of me or blame the system for me. And I expect the same for each and every person.

I have even failed exams and had to repeat one year in engineering.

But why did you complete your engineering degree ? Couldn't you attempt to get a job or start a company without a degree ?

had a situation where I just had 5-6 thousand in my account.

The woman who died of hunger in that railway station, she didn't have the five or six thousand you had.

This is also the case of all those farmers who commit suicide.

Why give up just because you fail. I already told you that I am not a loser like the victims you cry about. Did Edison give up inventing the light bulb after hundreds of failures. Did ISRO stop making rockets after the SLV failed?

BTW I have never seen you comment that the loser Vemula should have started his own company.

The woman who died of hunger in that railway station, she didn't have the five or six thousand you had.

This is also the case of all those farmers who commit suicide.
Inequality is the way of life.

They should have worked hard and earned more money
You neither recognise the meaning of privilege nor of social mobility, everything can't be reduced to hard work otherwise we can 'Indians should have just work hard to be rich' for us being poor in the last few centuries without giving any credence to the historical passages we have gone through.

Oh I recognize social and economic inequality. I already told you why I can't be as rich as Mukesh Ambani or my maid can't be as rich as me.

What I don't like is victim card.

I recognize that what I said came out wrong. I should have said Inequality is the way of life. I am editing my post

Victim card is what? Does complaining Ambani's son getting world class education while the maid's son being forced to drop out at age 10 is playing victim card? Does an average Dalit dying 14 years younger than UCs is playing victim card?
We need huge public investment in education and health, I am not against private property or capitalism but state have some responsibilities that even capitalist societies acknowledge.

LOL, man. Don't ever complain about Muslim rulers or British of creating inequalities or looting India because "inequality is the way of life".

PS : I am not advocating for a full fledged welfare system - Job growth should be the first priority but investment in education and health remains a public responsibility, if it is achieved by private sector then well and good but if not then government should step in.

Funny that you reference Edison. I quote his Wikipedia page :
Edison attended school for only a few months, and was instead taught by his mother. Much of his education came from reading R. G. Parker's School of Natural Philosophy and from enrolling in chemistry courses at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
He seemed not obsessed over a college degree as a means of getting a job but he desired education for the sake of educating himself.

Tell me, why is Mukesh Ambani allowed to have a 25-storey home while a million Bombay residents are forced to live in the Dharavi slum ?

Government and Private sector are both present in health care and education. With schemes like Ayushmaan Bharat and RTI even the poor can access the best of Private facilities. In fact in higher education government institutions are consistently ranked higher than private. They have all kinds of reservation and scholarship.

If you argue that the percentage of government participation should increase I may agree with you. However a person like @jamahir wants 100% government with everything free and I totally disagree with that.

Tell me, why is Mukesh Ambani allowed to have a 25-storey home while a million Bombay residents are forced to live in the Dharavi slum ?
His money. He can do whatever he wants.

His money. He can do whatever he wants.

In the olden days you would have made a good zameendar, with bonded laborers tilling your fields. They struggling for every little thing while you enjoying what was available for the wealthy.

Or perhaps, since you are speaking up for Ambani, you would have made a good munim for a zameendar, immune to the sufferings of the poor tilling his fields.

You don't really understand the words "Just" and "Unjust".

Capitalism rules. Money is God.

You should get Modi to say that use that slogan in the starting and sign-off of his Mann Ki Baat speeches. Or even his addresses at international forums such as the UNO or WEF. He will embarrass the capitalist West itself.

This argument, which is "if I can do it, so can anyone else" is often used by people that lack empathy and understanding of the differing circumstances that define the basis of people's predisposition to failure and success.

Your achievements and resilience, are no doubt admirable, but can hardly be a template for all society. There are differing factors that separate all of us, and there is a role that the government should play in:
1. leveling the playing field
2. providing opportunities (education/training etc)

Just like one person's success at marriage or raising children should not be a template for all society for family values, I believe the same should not be held for economic success.
