It all depends on local customs regardless of how religion comes into it or not.
The Chinese eat dogs which the west at times loves more than their own children - yet have no problem with Mink farms and culling 100k of these guys whose sole purpose is ending up in expensive clothing because of COVID-19.

The Hindus worship the beef, but in the south they consume it.

It all is about the norms of society - as a muslim I will not consume pork and despise the animal, a muslim majority nation can therefore ensure that none is sold because most of us find it a foul creature.
We also find large lizards offensive creatures but many in our desert communities and in Arabia consume it.

Come America and the Hindu has to watch both beef and pork in market shelves along with Muslims... and just as the majority opinion and culture of the state demands; we let those who want to eat it live their lives as we do ours and refuse it.

No mention of the cannibal tribes in South America and Africa who enjoy a good roasted leg with meat on femur.

Yes, but there is a sea of difference between the vile communists and libturds/Islamists from your place and the natives from NE. I have grown around the tribes mentioned in the OP, some of them do consume beef. But never once in my life have i seen them demonstrate their food choices hurting our cultural sentiments. We respect their choices, so do they towards us. It's not about vested interests making a statement, just brothers cohabiting together. The miyas and commie scums should learn from us.
