Well this thread isnt about Pakistan but Pakistan, even though having average airports, has better infrastructure than India, so....

Can you prove this ??

Yeah right go give that rant to someone else. Your entire nation runs on just one port and your airports look like 1960s. Your talles building is 100m and not single Metro or Brts exists in the entire nation. So shutup

India Could Use Pakistan’s Infrastructure

Stop making a fool out of yourself bro your nation has barely 5 motorways. Since independence that is the only thing you guy have built and proud of it.. Here India is building 500m tall buildings and 90bill$ DMIC project, 100s of airports, dozens of metros and Brts. Pakistan have only one counter attact that lame Islamabad to lahore Motorway

@Mritunjaya these airports provide jobs to 1000s of people who work there. When these are built many 1000 construction workers get jobs. You keep on harping about 35 billion spent on these. But who got that money ? The cement, steel glass industry, the workers who worked there , the people who sold there lands and became cororepatis. In turn since the demand of these industries increased they employed more workers and sourced more raw materials. This led to increase in production of Iron Ore, Coal etc. this led to increase in workers in coal and iron ore mines. Thus an airport in Delhi helped a coal worker in Bokaro.

As for the utility of these airports is concerned good transport infrastructure helps in quicker movement of goods and services from point A to B. this leads to higher productivity of the economy. Airports are the gateways to the world. When a foreign investor or tourist comes to India the first impression is the airport. If the first impression is good then the chance of better business is there.

Our motorways are best in South Asia... Can you even drive without running over a cow in India?

$90 billion project... Oh dear... Lol! India cant afford a 90 billion project, dumbo

Islamabad looks the best in whole South Asia...

You Indians keep pointing out your airports, while the world keeps pointing out your roads, sewage, infrastructure, than you guys get ashamed

Only things indians like you can boast is airports dude...

Kochi airport is the only Indian airport I've been to. Kochi airport looks weird.

Kochi isn't a Mumbai, but still. It felt overcrowded in there.

Pruuutty pictures of the gleaming new airports. Very nice indeed.

Wasn't it just yesterday there were a couple of threads on the top 10 best and the 10 worst airports?

India's were not in the 10 best. (Not that I agree or disagree with the articles)

Isn't all this really a dick measuring contest?

Regardless, those are good-looking modern structures.

btw, I am new here. Don't know if I have already broken any rules.

IGI Delhi Airport Master plan for 2025:

42822421.jpg

DSC00642.jpg

Phase 1A (2008) - COMPLETED
-Modernization of existing terminals - 1A,1B,1C and T2
-New Departure terminal for low cost airlines - T1D
-Third Runway

Phase 1B (2010) - COMPLETED
-New Integrated Terminal - T3
-Metro connectivity through Airport Express Line

Phase 2 (2012)- COMPLETED
-Additional remote stands near T3
-New central transportation corridor
-T1B to be razed - New terminal for general aviation and parking lot to come in place.

Phase 3 (2016)
-New international terminal - T4
-Expansion of T3 including piers
-Fourth Runway (11L/29R)
-New ATC tower

Phase 4 (2021)
-New Terminal -T5
-New pier for T5 and contact stands

Phase 5 (2025)
-New terminal for LCCs - T6
-Expansion of T3 and T4 piers and concourses
-Remote stands for T6
-New strengthened runway 09/27
-cargo facilities relocated North

The IGI airport will then be able to handle 100 million passengers/annum.

People say T3 at IGI is good- imagine 3 more just as modern (actually more state-of-the-art) and just as large (consider the T3 is only operating at ~60% capacity right now as future expansion was built-in to the design)as well as all the other facilities- Mumbai who??! lol!

Seriously though the IGI is lucky enough to have a shed-load of space in which to expand on, the Mumbai airport is seriously limited so they have to get very creative with the designs and the construction. Not to mention the IGI airport is the airport for the capital of India.

I hope that Mumbai gets a second (Navi Mubai airport is on the books) and third airport down the line- it needs them!

Wow, that is a beast!

I actually quite like this facade. Distinctive. All other Indian airports look like they could be from anywhere, nothing Indian about them.

That airport looks like its from Bhutan, not India.
