Welll.. Thats subjective mate, If the quality is so good then that quality should be even minutely emulated at international level, We do not need to discuss how abysmal Indian football team is at the world stage even with probably the largest talent pool in the world, The thing is even if you have 1% of the Indian viewership for the sport that would equal probably 80% of the fan base of a mid level European or a South american side, But quality wise that side would beat the Indian national side with half eyes closed
And the other side of the spectrum you will get African leagues, Pretty much nothing compared to the Indian league in viewership and finances sponsorship wise(Easy economics larger the number of fans more sponsors vying for exposure) But quality of the soccer played Africans are at the top of the world
So numbers in domestic leagues doesn't necessarily correlate to quality
Well, I agree with the fact that we are a highly populous country. But does that mean 1% of Indian's can get into few stadiums with the capacity of hardly 60K or 80K ??? But some trolls will never understand that. LOL
Regarding quality, do you think any Asian leagues have the highest quality like any of the top tier European leagues ??? No, yet most of them are successful with enough domestic fan following. Similarly we are have our own highest standards in ISL.
Here we are talking about league. Not the standard of Indian national team. Even the national side had made a drastic improvement in FIFA rankings over the last few years, from 171 in 2014 to 96 in July this year and now 105 Last month.
ISL is a grand success, so is FIFA U17 World Cup with record viewership in it's history. So we will keep on improving and its a process which is not accomplished in a day or two, but just wait and see how India football will improve radically from here.
