The reason is neither money nor US pressure it is politics. Indian reserves are at $400 billion If they fall below congress is going to make a big issue out it and modi is buying time on that mark with different excuses.

There are 2 clauses in CAATSA sanctions which India can use for it's purchase of Russian equipment and India is already abiding by USA sanctions on Russia and slowly decreasing it defence purchases from Russia. So money channel is it really the issue?
