NEW DELHI: In a major development, India has handed over its reply to the 30 questions raised by Pakistan after studying the 26/11 dossier. The Indian dossier runs in 401 pages.

The reply includes CDs and voice intercepts of terrorists.

Speaking on the issue, Home Minister P Chidambaram said, "All of Pakistan's 30 questions related to Mumbai terror attacks have been answered. These replies have been backed with evidence like forensic reports."

Chidambaram also said that if Pakistan is serious, these answers provide them solid base to prosecute.

The Home Minister handed over the replies to Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee who in turn handed it over to Pakistan.

New Delhi: India replied on Friday to 30 questions raised by Pakistan over last November's Mumbai attacks, in a move that could add to pressure on Islamabad to push forward the investigation.

Pakistan raised the questions in response to a dossier of evidence published by India. New Delhi said the dossier pointed to Pakistan-based militants being behind the attacks by ten terrorists that killed 166 people in Mumbai.

"It is our hope and expectation that this step will lead to bringing the perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks to justice and to credible action by Government of Pakistan against the infrastructure of terrorism in that country," the Indian Government said in a statement.

The Mumbai attacks have raised tensions between nuclear rivals India and Pakistan, who have been to war three times since Independence in 1947.

Responding to Pakistan's questions on Mumbai attacks, India on Fiday provided more evidence, including forensic reports, to Islamabad and asked it to proceed fast in prosecuting those behind the 26/11 carnage on the basis of the "very comprehensive" and "solid" material.

The 400-page dossier, containing replies to Pakistan's questions, was handed over by Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon to Pakistan's High Commissioner Shahid Malik here, a month after Islamabad posed the queries.

The second dossier include telephone conversations of the 10 attackers and their Pakistan-based handlers, fingerprints and other details of the terrorists who struck in Mumbai besides forensic analysis of GPS, ammunition and other equipment used by the terrorists.

Earlier, Home Minister P Chidambaram said the answers to Pakistan's questions are "very comprehensive" and adequate for it to act fast against the perpetrators of the terror strikes.

Chidambaram, who handed over the document along with evidence to External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee for on-passing it to Pakistan, said each and every question posed by Islamabad had been answered adequately.

"We have put together answers to 30 questions submitted by Pakistan. It is a very comprehensive document, answering each of the 30 questions," he told reporters after emerging from a meeting with Mukherjee.

Pakistan, in response to the Indian dossier of evidence on Mumbai attacks handed over to it on January 5, had said the material was insufficient and had sought more information on February 12 by posing 30 questions.

Pakistan had sought fingerprints and DNA profiles of all the 10 terrorists who carried out the attacks.

Islamabad had also sought post-mortem reports of the nine killed terrorists and their detailed description and information as provided by Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist of 26/11.

Pakistan had also requested for "authenticated copy" of the confessional statement of Kasab as recorded by judicial authorities and “other documentation/diaries recovered from his possession”.

Pakistani Govt will Respond and take actions against the perpetrators soon. Pakistan Just needed more evidence from Indians to proceed and Indians have given what Pakistan required.

But India Must not show a dominating/dictating or Pressurizing behavior to Pakistan. We don't want terrorists in our country as well.

What i meant was India must avoid pressurizing Tactics like Threatening Pakistan of Surgical Strikes and Dictating Terms Through USA or Isolating Pakistan Through Diplomatic efforts.

Pakistan is willing to co-operate with India and that's why we have arrested the accused people and we made our own investigations and we asked for Indian reply, now after getting Indian Reply we can proceed in our efforts to Prosecute the accused in Courts and Punish them.

Suspicion means ZILCH, you can not demand evidence from india and then when its furnished go on about ur suspicions. give evidence, if u don't have evidence - get it, if u can't get it, fire ur security agencies, if u can't fire ur security agencies - too bad.

If Pakistan had no time for this, then why give out 30 questionaire. Should have just left it alone. The true reality is that Pakistan was trying to out due India by giving questionaire, but it failed miserably by India response, with DNA, videos, and clear cut evidence.

If India is failed to act against LeT in Indian Kashmir then............because all links are discovered out side Pakistan. This web of terrorism much more complex and huge then Indian govt imagination...
