Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday expressed concern about the "safety and security of India's nuclear arsenal" and urged the international community to take notice.

In a series of tweets, the premier said that the fact that India's nuclear weapons are in the control of "the fascist, racist Hindu supremacist Modi government [...] impacts not just the region but the world".

The premier's statement comes two days after Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared that while New Delhi had stuck to its commitment of 'no first use' policy regarding nuclear weapons, the future policy would depend upon the situation. According to analysts, this statement by India introduced a level of ambiguity in New Delhi's core national security doctrine.

The prime minister also, once again, directed the world's attention to the lockdown imposed in parts of occupied Kashmir by the Indian government, that has entered its 14th day, saying that the matter "should have sent alarm bells ringing across the world with UN observers being sent there".

"India has been captured, as Germany had been captured by Nazis, by a fascist, racist Hindu supremacist ideology and leadership. This threatens nine million Kashmiris under siege in IoK for over two weeks which should have sent alarm bells ringing across the world with UN observers being sent there," he tweeted.

On Aug 5, government of the right-wing BJP had put Kashmiri leaders under house arrest and imposed a complete communications blackout in occupied Kashmir shortly before repealing Article 370 of the Indian constitution, stripping the region of its special status.

Despite a strict curfew in the occupied region, protests and clashes between Kashmiri residents and Indian forces have taken place at least twice.

He's doing exactly the right thing by comparing India to the Nazis in a language that the world understands. More damage has been caused to the image of India in the last 2 weeks than probably the last 70 years.
You may know it but the rest of the world doesn't and he's trying to make sure they find out.
Public opinion matters. That is how the Indians have managed to brand us as terrorists in the eyes of the world.
You may not like him but at least understand and acknowledge his efforts.

Imran Khan needs to cooperate with Pak army and close down our airspace completely. They will in near future, as Indian fighter planes are in forward bases. IT would be great for him to ban airspace for indian airlines. Their economy is in a nosedive right now. India is accumulating foreign debt, time to hurt them even more.

Absolutely agree with you, I have watched their national TV Doordarshan since 90s and there is NO difference between Congress and BJP on the issue of Kashmir and Pakistan, the only thing is that Pakistani ruling elites "feel" good dining with the Congress people in india because Congress presents itself as "secular" which Pakistani elites for decades are in love with. The so-called "secular" Congress was financing all kinds of terrorism and terrorists inside Pakistan between 2004 to 2014 during their rule and we had the worst terrorist attacks financed by congress government of india inside Pakistan such as GHQ attack, Marriot hotel attack, Data darbar attacks, Kamra Attack, Navy base attack and the countless bomb blasts that were the norm in Pakistan during 2007-2014. Yet the fools in Pakistani establishment have a "soft" corner towards congress because BJP is NOT willing to dine with them. For most of Pakistani elites and establishment any indian or indian party is "good" as long as they are willing to dine and chat with them on a table, it doesn't matter to them if those "good indians" are financing various terrorist attacks in Pakistan, it just doesn't matter for these fools.

You need to look at the bigger picture, we achieved morale high ground by releasing Abhinandan. we had to return him anyway according to Geneva convention may be a week later but we may not have achieved morale high ground.The whole world was watching. In return, the whole world now quotes what IK has to say, Its a big thing. Before that if 100 people in Pakistan would die you would not hear even a squint in international media.

Activist-lawyer Prashant Bhushan attacked at his chambers in Supreme Court.Three people reportedly stormed into Mr Bhushan's chamber and began beating him while he was in the midst of a TV interview. Mr Bhushan was slapped and kicked. He fell to the floor, his glasses fell near him, and his shirt was torn before other lawyers rushed in to help him.

The police have arrested one of the assaulters. The others managed to escape.

Mr Bhushan has been taken to hospital for a check-up. "They were saying that I have made some comments on Kashmir to which they were taking objection. I have said that a referendum should be held in Kashmir," he said.

Mr Bhushan also said the attackers told him they belong to the Sri Ram Sene - a right-wing Hindu extremist group which shot into notoriety in 2009 after its activists attacked young women at a pub in Mangalore.
