The issue was the rise of Mullah Omar and the Taliban as champions of justice for the common Afghan against the warlords. The documentary details that.

As I wrote earlier, the documentary also shows how radical extremism came in courtesy of AQ. Also, the documentary makes it clear that ruthlessness was the order of the day by all sides while, understandably, going easy on the NA because they are pro-west now.

I can assure you Pakistan will not meddle in Afghanistan if India would stop meddling. You see India sees Afghanistan as a way to encircle Pakistan and that is the main reason why Pakistan wants to protect itself by moving in. I think both Pakistan and India should get the friggin hell out of Afghanistan and let the people of Afghanistan work it out. But It will be hard for India to stay away so we are locked in this deadly gamesmanship.

As for the flags, I fly flags of both my homes with equal pride, Indian ( you are not fooling anyone, Indian ).

Sorry but this is a recipe for disaster, not peace. India is not doing anything but developmental work for the last decade. And India has a direct interest in Afghanistan not again becoming a terrorist base camp as it was in the 1990s.

If the Taliban were so popular, they would have no problems contesting a free and fair election to establish their legitimacy. But, the fact they will not agree to this shows that their "popularity" is based more on extortion and fear than and "championing of justice". For most people safety and security of their lives and their families is the foremost thing on their mind.

Destabilize Afghanistan ? Are you telling me that Afghanistan was somehow flourishing in peace and prosperity before the Soviets came and all the lawlessness and civil wars were brought by Pakistan ? The pages of Afghan history are splattered with blood !!! Ever read Afghanistan history or just talking from behind ?

Well what is west doing exactly is pushing India for the same Afghanistan trap that got USSR broken and USA bankrupt ... What chances would India have there with the Taliban remains to be seen ... Do they expect them to talk with India which supports the Northern Alliance ? One thing is clear that US puppet Karzai isn't going to last along once NATO departs

Lets see if you can provide the evidence for all that So begin here ... and how India supports peace ? By opening 6+ consulates in dry barren Afghanistan ... Explain what exactly can Afghanistan offer India ? Technology ? Trade ? Anything ! If not , then what are these consulates for ? Is Afghanistan some sort of land of opportunities ? Or are you looking for something far more sinister ?
