Why Malacca is a 5% Strait for China's energy supply.

China's energy production by type. (2010)

Crude Oil 200 Million Ton = 4.5 India
Coal 3,162 Million Ton = 8 Saudi Arabia

Crude oil production 2009

Iran 4,172,000 bbl/day
China 3,991,000 bbl/day
India 0,878,700 bbl/day

Hydroelectric production (2009)
China 652.05 TWH ~1/6 of China's total electricity production or 70% of India's total electricity production in 2010
India 115.6 THW

lol, we know you guys feel really depressed in the Olympic Games, but we are definitely not the one who is looking for troubles here. :coffee:

olympics? buddy indians only care about cricket. and in that we are the reigning world champions

and in reality all those are made up by foreign junk parts, that hardly floating in the sea```Indians are always dream high

surpisingly, despite operating on a much smaller budget indian warships are superior to chinese ones
such as
1. Shivalik class frigs

"Nowhere in the world ship of this size has been incorporated with stealth features. It is a 6000 tonne ship and is the largest stealth frigate in the world."

and of course in seamanship, PLAN doesnt stand a chance

My guess is that the Indian Navy commands a significant advantage over the PLA Navy in the domains of airmanship and seamanship.

Indian mariners are steeped in a naval-aviation culture that the Chinese are only starting to instill.

And in what situaton india plan to block oil or any shipment through Malacca straight? OR s it indian answer to the fact that if india can not afford enough energy and infrstructure then india will disrrupt other progress who can well afford.
Looks like india spend too much money on some fantasy than looking after very basic electric grid. Fantasy China can very easy overcome by substituting through pipeline, gas and other alternative energy source.

I also agree it is a significant percent not critical as to imply achilles heel. i believe that it is there to
1) stop any piracy
2) give protection to India's maritine trade
3) To increase the presence in Indian Ocean.

It might not be as silly as you think. With so many power shortages, you might get pirates robbing passing ships of fuel to sell back in India.

But in all seriousness, there's nothing wrong with India building a base on an island they own. If they really have to, China could eventually ally with Indonesia and put a base off Banda Aceh.

Go ahead India! give the Chinese a sign.
A weak country is easily blackmailed.

How would you build the pipelines across the Karokaram ranges of the Himalaya Mountains at over 6,000meters elevations. The terrain in very very hostile and rugged. The winter temperatures falls below -15C and the pipes will freeze over. The energy needed to pump the oil through such large distances and elevations and keep the pipes warm enough will make the whole project uneconomical.
Even after the pipeline enters the Chinese terrirtory, the oil has to be again pumped through very large distances, over some of the most arid and desolate terrain in the world like Tibetan plateau and Gobi desert and Kunlun mountains, to reach the final consumption points.

its the job of CHinese engineers..not Indians..may be in next 200 years you can crack the same skill.
If USA can ship oil from Alaska then China can ship it from Gawader.

sensationalism is a means to an end, selling news....it is a businesses and not a charity sadly.

If a society comprises largely of honest people with a true sense of righteousness, would the media be able to sell so many unfactual news?

in case of war moron. :hitwall: and yes, my cheerleader, india is spending trillions on energy and infra.
regerding grid failures, everyone has experianced including USA and ur pimp china.(they dont tell anyone about it though)
your country may be insignificant, but its no reason to spew cr@p on another powerful one, just because its appreciated in this website

We already deployed J-10B to our Tibet airbases. Ready to flatten new delhi within 10 minutes when Supreme Leader Xi Jinping gives the command!

Poor J-10B... chances of survival against Akash missile: NIL.

Good we will be able to use J-10Bs for our target practice, in place of Lakshya PTAs.
