Yes, for creep free engines we need single crystal superalloy blades, and only Rolls-Royce and GE have perfected them.
But this is my point, why blame the government only? What are Indian companies doing?
Why can't they match GE or IBM in R&D?
Because there are no proper updated tools and precision technology. They know how to make, but during simulation when you don't get a desired output due to an update error in eg: Matlab or CADENCE, that is one reason. Why error because we are masters of IT technology but not been able to develop Indigenous MATLAB or CADENCE.
If you have a shaft which is up to the date, and you fix single crystal blades to it which is not as per the standard then the tuning of turbine will not be as expected, disturbing the desired bypass ratio and over all thrust and performance.
