Why are we getting Mi-17s when there is a project for IMRH initiated domestically?

Are we retiring MI-8s? This is waste of public money in the medium term.

IMRH will take ages. But it may succeed since it's an internal HAL project and politics is less likely to throw a spanner. But further orders of Mi-17 will certainly slow it down.

Heavy duty :- Mi26 and Chinook
Medium weight category(30+ men) :- Mi17 for now
For Utility (10-12 men) :- Dhruv
For Light Duties :- LUH and Ka226T.

The S70 doesn't find its place in the matrix for Army.

Mostly to deploy troops to the remote/hilly areas during crisis... its Medium category that's why the numbers will go high....
