No, Nuclear weapons have stopped many wars.Pakistan and India both should be nuclear power but never use nuclear weapons.If it was not for Nuclear Weapons i am quite sure we would have fought another 2-3 wars.Nuclear weapons are the reason US and Soviet Union never fought directly.

Our leaders are not mature/ responsible enough and rather trigger happy....

Our average population (and apprantly a good chunk of the educated masses based on comments from this forum) are uneducated and unaware of consequences of a nuclear war....and somehow willing to use it as a "general" option instead of a "final" solution

Our countries are ridden with extremist mentality folks who could very easily get a hold of these nukes and hold hostage the future of the entire subcontinent!!

With such irresponsible attitude and decades of mistrust and animosity among our nations, coupled with fundamentalism, I dont think our nations are responsible enough to safeguard these weapons or "use them in the right place at the right time"....

Besides isnt the only reason why Pakistan posseses nukes is as a deterrent to the Indian nukes??

I strive for world disarmament of nuke weapons.....Nuclear energy is better served for civilian use!!!

Are you serious you do not know this, who cares for common man and that is where I keep on saying, if the terrorist feel by killing common people they can get government to act is wrong. Who cares for life here, even if they kill couple of ministers nothing is going to happen.

Let me tell you one thing when there was a parliament attack in India by terrorist, the common talk was why could they not kill even a single politician. Everyone was so unhappy about inability of those terrorist to kill any politician.

All this is not my feeling, I am just sharing what I heard and saw.
Politicians care only for there pocket and public cares for themselves, in between there are some good men who are moving country ahead.

Good example is the current situation: With Pakistan possessing more nukes and better missiles (apparantly)....has not changed the posture of the Indian govt on Kashmir......what makes anyone think this is changing in the future???

Man are you gone mad, India is not even thinking of nuking anyone, yes there are people in India who engage in gossiping, and that is what it is, in no way India can take this step period. I know Indians pretty well. Also we are not mad that we make every Muslim nation our enemy, we have problem with Pakistan not with Muslims. There are people who have interest in spreading that India is anti Muslim, the fact is it is not.

Yes. India has a no first strike policy. But it doesn't mean India will not retaliate with nukes in case of a nuclear war. That is why India has nuclear deterrence and second strike option.

I agree with your statement, but India will not hit the sites you mentioned. I had objection to that, as it is there are people who have misconceptions and we are adding to it.
