Any country's GDP forecast will have errors. I never deny that there are errors in China's economic data. But some people say that China's GDP growth is only 1.7%. This is an absolute mistake. too exaggerated. They can directly say that China's economy has collapsed.

The consensus among some people is that its overstated by about 1%. I honestly dont really care, I subscribe more to @GeraltofRivia line of argument that its really the broader aspect of it that matters much more rather than specific pinned number.

The 1.7% is clearly rubbish...it was more to point out that there is internal dissenting voices in China though. Thats a strength that is underplayed even by China (I feel the guy should not have been silenced but rather disproven thoroughly...with my favourite argument style: "lets assume your hypothesis/statement is correct....and even doing so...here is the clear evidence against it" etc). By silencing, you only add some credence to what they last said before they were silenced.

Hell make sure they think that way. There is no point in GDP growth if nothing grows at all. Look at the state of Indian infrastructure and quality of living. Simple portable water is not available. Money is but paper if not used to develop the economy and improve the lives of the people.

I keep on emphasizing people to travel to China and see for themselves.
