If population is growing then we cannot make a law like China to restrict birth. India need huge funds but they have to developed as time runs. You cannot make the country develop overnight.



Last year India added about 11 million toilets, but the Government wants the rate of construction to rise considerably. Project is to build around 20 Million every year.

india is a very big country with a very huge population,, it has more than 6,00,000 villages.. it is very big task to provide all the facility to each and everyone in all the corners of the country.. there are still some problems left for us to solve.. and i can assure that govt is trying hard to provide basic facilities to everyone... but it is not going to be easy...
But one thing i can promise to those people who loves to make fun of my country is that "we are improving and getting better every day."

Whats the progress, the article only tell India plan to built that much

if you are so concerned with how indian take a dump ! i would like to tell you that there are -10000 public toilet in making in delhi before commonwealth. and they are looking for contractor and janitor both - for contractor you have to be indian.
second one if you interested and love Indian dump so much - can get a job.

I remember my friend was working one a similar project funded by some UN organisation and they were working on convincing people to have affordable toilets at their homes if they can not afford expensive ones.


They were working in Mardan district of my province and the area which was assigned to my friend and her fellows, it was declared the model project by an Indian Team which had visited Mardan.

later she was invited to India and the Indian team decided to implement the same model in Indian villages.

My friend under the said project introduced pit-toilets (im not sure if the spellings are correct) it is very affordable and very cheap.

Criticism is very fair. What the article says is absolutely correct.

It is the dark side of India.

In fact India has so many problems, it isn't funny.

That's not the point. The point is the form in which advice is couched.

You expect Indians to understand criticism. Why can't Chinese people do the same?

Before you answer, let me tell you that I have studied and worked with Chinese people; not American - Chinese, but people from China in the US.

They are hard working, intelligent, and having studied them in some detail, I know that China will indeed be a great superpower some day. Chinese people have a drive and will to succeed. They can get a job done.

However, there are deep issues in Chinese society and among Chinese people.

You accuse us of being sensitive to criticism; well, that would be valid if you were not equally if more sensitive.
