Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday said India faced "expulsion by Iran in Chabahar project due to its wrong policies", adding that the country had "gradually strained" its relations with all its neighbours — Pakistan, China, Nepal and Bangladesh.

In a statement, Qureshi said India was spoiling its relations due to a “Hindutva mindset”. “The so-called impression of a ‘Shining India’ is over now owing to incumbent government’s policies of hatred and bias,” he added.

Earlier this month it emerged that Iran had dropped India from the Chabahar rail project citing delayed finances.

The railway project, which was being discussed between the Iranian Railways and the state-owned Indian Railways Construction Ltd (IRCON), was meant to be part of India’s commitment to the trilateral agreement between India, Iran and Afghanistan to build an alternative trade route to Afghanistan and Central Asia.

India is also set to lose an ambitious gas field project in the country that had been in the pipeline for the past 10 years.

India's Ministry of External Affairs in a statement said that Tehran would develop the Farzad-B gas field in the Persian Gulf region "on its own" and might engage India "appropriately at a later stage".

Regarding Pakistan's relations with Bangladesh, the minister said Pakistan wanted to maintain good bilateral ties by "forgetting bitterness of past and moving towards a good future".

UNGA president to visit Pakistan
The foreign minister also said that the president-elect of the United Nations General Assembly, Ambassador Volkan Bozkir, is due to visit Pakistan on Monday.

Qureshi said he would present to Bozkir Pakistan's position on Indian occupied Kashmir, which he said was suffering the "worst human rights situation" in the world.

The foreign minister said that he would also inform Bozkir about the atrocities committed by the Indian Army in occupied Kashmir.

Qureshi termed the visit of foreign media journalists to the Line of Control (LoC) in Chirikot sector a day earlier "an important step" in this regard. The journalists, he said, were escorted by the military to the region to witness the plight of residents living along the frontier.

Qureshi said the journalists had been invited by Pakistan to "show them the double standards of India".

"Will India follow suit and allow independent media to visit the occupied valley?" he questioned, adding that India was also "restricting movement of UN-deployed observers to hide the truth".

According to the Foreign Office, India has committed 1,697 ceasefire violations this year to date, resulting in 14 deaths and serious injuries to 133 civilians.

From two berths of Chahbar, I think India other than counter Pakistan from Iran and Afghanistan didn't look Central Asia market as fruitful because then it put india in direct competition with China and Russia. Second If India built the Iran Rail link was more beneficial for Pakistan, not India. This is a reason it got delayed on this project.

Lol.
This fellows claim has been debunked by Iranian Railway chief himself. Infact Iran also said vested interests were behind claims that Iran remove India from Zahedan-Chabahar rail:

iran use the diplomatic wording cooperation.Cooperation arises, when actors adjust their behaviour to the actual or anticipated preferences of others, through a process of policy coordination.Ircon chairman and managing director, Mr S K Chaudhary, confirmed that additional funds had not been allocated from the Indian side in recent years, but said that the “project was on track, as he had not been told about any change in plans.” it means show the money or you are out. Do you think can you afford this lavish project.

Do you not know what the meaning of diplomacy is? Of course Iran is not going to outright say they kicked India out of the project since they are still on relatively friendly terms ... Iran is going to try to sugar coat the situation the best they can and you just fell for it lol.

Let me sugarcoat this for you - At the end of the day India can place a huge cash order for Iranian crude. Pakistan cannot. money talks

Yes money talks. How much oil can India purchase from Iran versus China? I didn't even mention Pakistan in my previous response. The reason why Iran dropped India was because China was a much more useful partner. India does not have anything to offer.

From Iran perspective they want a diverse set of buyers. The more the merrier. If China is 30% and India is 10% they are fine with that.

You did not mention Pakistan because Pakistan is irrelevant in this matter

I mentioned Pakistan because of the title of the post.

But Iran went and confided in Pakistan...Pakistan, the one that has not the cash nor the influence to even be part of the project?
FMQ must have some solid ESP...clearly no Iranian bothered to tell him lol

Iran is at Pakistan's mercy when it comes mega project like Chadabar.

As its boils down the a nation's capability in construction services for such projects

Pakistan is major player in construction services

Pakistan is the 11th largest exporter of construction services with 2.9 billion $ exports in 2019
near that of USA which was saw 3.1 billion $ for the same year

Where as India in the league of Afghanistan with $94 million for the same year
Heck, Afghanistan even exported $30 million more than India in 2018

So Pakistani construction service exports are more than 20 times than India's

Nothing in relation to what or for whom he is saying....He is a spent cartridge....His career achievement in this Govt. is NIL....he failed as a foreign minister for not been able to garner international support against India on Kashmir (after all what Modi did)...... Every other day he just blabber against India to show his frustration and that's all what he can do.....poor chap!!

can someone explain what is Central Asia going to sell India that cannot be gotten on the international market ?

He mentioned Pakistan because there is an obsession - the comparison to China is a difficult one for them to absorb because that is a non starter and India will always be a poor second.
Iran has let India down gently and to say embarrassment this has been the best option. India yet again isolated as Others make strategical and geopolitical connections - that has to hurt India .

I mentioned Pakistan because of the title of the thread. As I mentioned as a seller you want a diverse set of buyers. I will let you figure out who can constitute the diverse set of buyer

If India mend her ways and get her house in order, Pakistan can bring her out of isolation.

I think you posted this in wrong section. Please post this in "Stupid and Funny" section.

On Topic - This news is already debunked by many sources from both India & Iran, India is going forward with this rail project.
