India eyes Israel's Iron Dome to counter Pak, puppets

Concerned ? :D ... Actually , we want you to acquire that system and fire a 50k interceptor which may or may not hit a shell or rockets from thousands of credible threats ... What we are doing here is discussing the system , its effectiveness and shortcomings so if you do not have anything to contribute except your cheap bantors then keep out of here ...
SO why do u need to raise ur blood pressure ?? Hey buddy if u want us to buy the system bcoz u can pulverize it by "thousands of rockets" (Which no PAK general has balls to do only to over come 1 ID. Side question, Do they really have those ??) then why the heck are u commenting on its drawbacks ?? Won't it be better if u praised it and hid its short cumming (Pun intended)?? Also why are you disclosing your great expertise, which u gained after loosing all wars with India since 40's ??

Who's raising his blood pressure ? ... Cross the border and then see if Pakistani Generals have the balls to do it or not ... We have seen how your mighty army has backed down three times in a row ...

Why the heck ? I will tell you exactly why ... Because they call it an international forum , open to all all members of every nationality allowing everyone to express his opinion appropriately , this isn't your usual BRF or Indian forum where only one sided opinions praising the country , its army and defense equipments are appreciated ... I am getting the idea of whats irking you at the moment :D

No , because nobody's opinion here will make any difference to the defense planners sitting in our respective capitals and they know these things better than us having a complete data available to analyse it ... Leave the wars aside here , it will only derail the thread and you will be told a few great secrets about your army's losses ... Back to the Iron Dome , shall we ? :D or you still want to discuss why are Pakistanis commenting on a thread on Pakistani defense forum !

------- nasr -------- fajr-5
Caliber- 300mm ---- 333 mm
Range -- 60 km ---- 75 km

So what exactly makes nasr better?

Is the diameter and range of a missile the only determining factor of their capability ? :azn: ... Or possibly speed , guidance , ECCM sophistication and missile evasion methods also come into play ?

Nasr wont be facing Iron Dome , this much is certain ... Pakistan will try to take out as much SAM sites it can before launching a tactical nuke ...

Ouch, don't make them cry now

Is the diameter and range of a missile the only distinguishing factor in their capability by any chance ? :azn: ... Or possibly speed , guidance and evasive methods also come into play ?

You want to add guidance and evasive methods to a rocket and still not call it a missile, all the best mate!

Do you have any idea what Nasr is or even what we have been talking about all along ? :azn:

Let me spoon feed you now ...

The Hatf IX, named Nasr (Arabic: نصر‎), is a solid fuelled battlefield range ballistic missile (BRBM) system developed by Pakistan. The missile's existence was first reported after a test-firing on 19 April 2011.[1][2] It is referred to by Pakistan's Inter Services Public Relations organization as a "Multi Tube Ballistic Missile" because the launch vehicle carries multiple missiles.

Yes nasr is the worlds best missile built with alien technology that cant be stopped by anyone.let alone iron dome.....fajr 5 is no match for nasr indeed...he was just joking.....our air defences is enough to stop that thing hitting us....if anyday that chance arises...iron dome is being bought for a better quality of missile ..not the gaza type katyusha rockets u've renamed nasr:P

Israel enjoys this luxury because the rockets that are fired towards Israel have a very low accuracy which makes it easy for the Iron Dome to attack only those that it considers a threat, do you think India can enjoy the same luxury?
1. Israel protects the entire cities, in war u need to protect much smaller objects like airfield.
2. Hamas did not fear of counter battery fire coz it fired from populated areas, in war its different.
3. Israel intercepted 421 rockets in 8 days. Do u think its easy to fire such number of nasrs when iron dome detects u in seconds and guides artillery on u?

By the way the interception of 421 rockets coated just 30 mln $ that's nothing in terms of total war costs and even one nasr hitting the airfield can do more damage.

You cannot simply compare Gaza with Pakistan. Our Army will probably fire dozens of MLRs. Refer to Luftwaffe's documentary.

Watch the last clip of the cruise missile i posted. There is very little you can do to counter that. Your SAMs will probably work only to counter Nasr

No. The SAM systems fielded are specifically against CM and low flying aircraft.

So what exactly makes nasr better?

In terms of interception probability, nothing. Nasr is as much prone to interception by Iron Dome as Fajr-5.
The issue is that one has to count all the variables in for a better understanding of the scenario. India would be facing a huge amount of mortar, artillery and MBRL attacks in a war against Pakistan.

Iron Dome is simply too expensive for extensive deployment amongst the IA's defensive troops. However, a limited amount of systems can be procured for defense of high value assets in the battlefield, specially in a scenario where IA has captured some area of the enemy.

India could also procure only the source-locating radars in good numbers for the Artillery. Since Pakistan still lacks a good number of MBRLs and modern artillery (MRSI), the addition of only those radars would provide a powerful punch (in case Indian Army does not possesses quality artillery-locating radars already).

Console yourself ! We even want your Generals to think just like that :D Straight migration from BRF you have been making , I take it ? :azn:

completely agree

Their Generals are not, they are very capable officers and that is why they have not entertained this idea of acquiring the Iron Dome. It is just these arm chair Generals here on PDF and in the media whom are speculating that India will acquire this system.

During the Bosnian War, thousands of artillery shells were fired in a couple of minutes. Same scenario will be repeated between India and Pakistan, do these guys actually think that Indian Army can afford to launch a $90k interceptor for every artillery shell. If so, than Pakistan has already won the war because India will be bankrupt, even a country like the US cannot afford a system like this to neutralize artillery shells. Besides, there are several tactics that can be used by PA to make this system irrelevant. Why not fire dummy rounds at sensitive areas to force the IA to launch the interceptors, once launched fire the real rounds. This is just one tactic, there are several others that can be employed.

Not that i am for or against this system as i donot know the technical details.

But you assume that Indians must be jolly stupid if they field this system, which also locates where the artillary is comming from, and still just keep trying to intercept incoming shells. Instead you would find that in an area where the system is deployed, with the first shells fired from Pakistan, the system would locate the launch area and that area would be be shelled or bombed in the next 30 minutes.

Nasr won't be targeting any airfield. For that purpose, Pakistan has fielded SRBMs, ALCM and GLCMs.

France proved the match fitness of Rafale during Libya campaign.. & succeeded in gaining India's attention. It's Israel's turn now! New way of marketing High-tech military machines!!
