Best place to be a woman in India has to be Meghalaya, hands down. Unlike the mainstream society, where a girl after marriage goes on to live with husband's family, it's the opposite in Khasi society. Besides land is inherited by women there.

When Shillong used to be capital of Assam many youths from Assam used to go study there. Quite a few got married to local Khasi women and settled there itself.

Glad to hear the good news. Here in Rajasthan child marriage was a trend in the past and I have meet beautiful girls (very beautiful indeed) but found out later that they are already married.
Meanwhile girls who were married at an early stage are raising there voices against it.

There are few advantages of being closer to the Capital, but the point i am raising here is guys who are forced into underage marriages do suffer from repressed anger . And being a patriarchal society women face the brunt from these guys. Infanticide is a major issue and we do need to work hard on it but along with it we also need to focus on our boys.

BJP is completely alien to the society India is turning into. Unlike what many people think I have a lot of respect for BJP and RSS and the principles they hold (though not Modi and gang). But I know enough history to understand they're outdated.
