India Doesn't Deserve To Be Equal To China

.
Hindsight is always the genius, its foresight that really counts.
Also for Chinese the future is always tense. We, Bhartis don't need to come up with anything else. Buddhism preaches contentment you see

What percentage of Indians are buddhists?

. .
ok....Chinese can take the "superpower" status.
now go back to copying noodles

Buddhism has originated from Hinduism with common dharmik principles,
quite right.
Lord Buddha is considered to be an avatar of Lord Vishnu in Hinduism,
....well considerations (lord Vishnu) and facts (a human Buddha) should be kept apart.
so all Hindus are Buddhists also.... That's more than 80%! :)
.....I like this idea.
all muslims are human, all hindus are human as well...hence these two religions can be "considered" equal.
seriously though, I kinda agree. Buddhism is an offshoot of hindu religion. its another matter that Buddhism can also be considered anti-thesis of Hinduism (if u consider Buddhism doesn't allow 33 crore gods-or any god for that matter- and doesn't follow-vehemently protests actually-the caste system, which a pure hindu holds so dear to his heart).

Buddhism rejects a foundational tenet of Hinduism: the Caste System. Further more, by your logic, all Muslims are Christians because Jesus is considered a prophet in Islam; or Jews are both Christians and Muslims because they all worship the same God.

What utter nonsense you spout!

A communist is quoting the foundational tenet of hinduism. Thats very cute. Who taught you that? Internet?

Christianity and Islam are abrahamic religion. Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism are all dharmic religions.
Google this if you can. We will discuss afterwards the scope of your knowledge of the foundational tenets of all religions.

Caste system is not a fundamental tenet of Hinduism, that thing came much later from Manu.

Besides, '33 crore gods' is a misinterpretation of Vedas @baajey :)

Except that there's no concept of any Divine being in Buddhism.

e.g 'God'. Buddhas, Bodhisatvas and Arhats are not god(s).

That's the greatest fundamental difference between Buddhism and most other religions like polytheistic Hinduism and monotheistic Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

*im an ex-Buddhist and ex-Protestant myself

In Buddhism, what and how you practice is more fundamental than what you believe, in that way they believe more in 'Karma' I guess.

sir, whats the use of the fundamental tenets when non fundamental ones (such as caste system, idol worshipping etc) ruled the "practice" of an average hindu.
an average person doesn't follow religion by the book. I hope u see my point.
thanks
will read.

There is no "caste" in Hinduism, it exist because it is defined and the Constitution of India.

It is not part of hindu religious practice, it is part of modern Indian social classification. Including christians and muslims.

"Idol worship" as you call it, is a fundamental tenet of hinduism and its practices.

I can see that you are butt hurt by our practice of "idol worship", but since you do not live in Saudi arabia or Taliban state, suggest that you suck it up and pretend to "like it" and pretend to be "secular and tolerant" like the majority of Indian muslims.

who told u that idol worshipping is a basic tenet (not tenant u anpad gawar of a fool :p:). go do some surgical strike on some books.
and btw, whether caste is a fundamental tenet or not , is not the frigging point of discussion. it is the general practices such as casteism which is the sore point.
btw, i m a hindu too. but thankfully i m not one of those million sheeps alongwith which u herd. keep on munching green.
