India does not want to be caught in US-China game: Inderfurth

anything wrong going on these days?
firstly j-10 to srilanka and now...

The point is, the type of competition that Jay is advocating is not to the benefit of India. It is to the benefit of India to lie low, cut armed forces (because realistically, China can't attack India without political backfire but if truly needed, can crush India like a bug; this was the same dilemma faced by China vs. US+USSR in 1980's and we took the risk of being crushed and cut our military) and invest in infrastructure.

One Su-30MKI can feed 1 million farmers. 1 million farmers rebelling due to starvation will severely damage India far more than whatever the Su-30 MKI can shoot down.

This got to be the funniest post ever in the history of this board. the galls of this guy--- basically advocating. don't listen to JayATL, your best bet India -is to be China's House slaves if you want to survive! This fella must have hit that IQ test out of the park!

i.e. don't dare try to take our market share away, because if India takes our market share then it will be bad for India, ROFL

Hmm..

Advice coupled with statistics to boot !

Whats all this about India being attacked at will ? The stupidest thing India & China can do is to go to war - whatever be the reason or provocation. There are a number of ways to make your point besides going to war and these are lasting , silent & have greater impact.

In any case both nations need to grow quietly and the rest will follow.

You have to be a field slave first, then with good behavior, promotion to house slave.

The alternative of course is to still lose any war that you may impose on your neighbors, but have more rebellions and civil unrest.

regarding to part in bold figures,it is necessary to have enough deterence force specially in this scenario.
we also have pakistan.
and regarding to su-30 statement, govt is trying slowly for this, have made policies but will take time to improve.
alone su-30 is not responsible for farmer death,a lot of issues are there.
but main thing is that if u r secure from outside then u r able to develop ur infrastructure in south asia.

How about the option on keeping the military modernization intact and along with it invest heavily in the infrastructure sector. Which is being done as we speak. In five years India'll invest 1 trillion in infrastructure.
No, country can concentrate on internal matters without securing its territorial border.
Anyway, thanks for your concern.

Keep thinking that, all real indians should be glad that you're in the US, far away and unable to influence India at all.

mate,Non-resident Indians(NRI) can also vote....

Every indian all over the world is connected to India...
Let it be a governor general in new zealand or mayor of carolina or kalpana chawla...

. . .
it depends how much usa can push india by arm twisting, yankees are best in bargaining in diplomacy..

We need high tech weapons and they are selling them to us. We will buy from anyone who will sell them to us. After all, we do not want China to snatch away Arunachal Pradesh from us do we? Neither do we want China bottling us in the Indian Ocean. Can we say with certainty that China will not attempt these activities in the near future? We can't. So we have to be strong enough to deter any such attempt. We will take the help of however will help us in achieving this, be it Russia, US, UK, Israel, France or any other country. India is not anti China, India is simply pro India. We do not want war but that does not mean that we should not prepare for it.

May I remind you that last war fought over AP, was because India wanted to test China.

Well, we are not testing China any more but we wish to be prepared all the same, just in case China gets the feeling that it is being tested.

Not really brother. There can't be a rebellion in India. What would public ask for? Freedom? Democracy? India is already a secular democratic country so that's the highest amount of political freedom one could have which rules out any possibility of rebellion. The rebellion against some specific party due to lack development might happen but that's the most amount of rebellion that can happen in India.

Our firepower now is 100times that of last war and
we will have double the fire power we have currently after 4years...

I know, it's just that your last statement made it seem like China is the only possible aggressor. It takes two to tango, and India has been making all the big moves lately.
