India Developing, but still a long way to go

Massive urban constructions and pro-capitalist shopping plazas are never a measure of success and development. Trust me, I have seen all this stuff in Islamabad and Lahore, sometimes even in a better form, but never felt any emotionally driven proud. The real parameters to measure development and national welfare is to see poor and rich, both, having same opportunities of justice, health and education.

It exists in Pakistan but to a far lesser extent. As an Indian, I have better access to quality education and the future looks a lot better. Most people are very optimistic about the development and future prospects and rightly so. Also, please read the title "...still a long way to go". We have surely reach farther than you people. It is funny how your kind always interjects with pessimism as if it is some sort of holy truth when in fact it is far from it.

India - A Country in an Optimistic Mood

India is not only this year's official partner at the Hannover Messe. German businesses are also closely watching Asia's third biggest economy. German companies, especially plant and machinery manufacturers, have long had a presence in India.

Now they anticipate higher sales, are building modern factories and and doubling their work force. That's partly because Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been easing conditions for foreign companies in India. He also wants to increase foreign direct investment. And the country's potential is far from exhausted.

Its funny that how your kind always tend to compare things when there is no comparison. Indian has almost 6 times larger population than Pakistan so economy must be larger in any case. I never said anything pessimist particularly about your country but the comment was, in general, related to both countries. Neither I have mentioned that you should stop all these projects. It is more funny that how some people over-whelmed with the idea of proving others wrong rather than understanding what is actually being said.
PS I have access to better quality health and education too.

Where do you study and live?
I mean India's 15.2% population is malnourished compared to Pak's 22%. For education, from average years of schooling, literacy rate, Education Index, ranking of school and institutions, India is primarily a better place than other third world countries in institutional ranking especially.

I'm a new member on this forum and have no authority to post links currently, otherwise I can provide reports.
Didn't intend to troll honestly, I just spotted your post about comparison with Islamabad and Lahore, India has a lot of modern cities with a lot of active metro train and bus systems (monorail, metrino and bullet train tracks in trials).

You can assert yourself as much you want but your message was clear. So.
Massive urban constructions and pro-capitalist shopping plazas are never a measure of success and development. Trust me, I have seen all this stuff in Islamabad and Lahore,
If urban growth is nice and this thing reaches even small cities, it's pretty good.
As the other guy raised the point about density of such things, we're not posting small cities because they haven't skylines. Otherwise facilities have reached even smaller towns. India's growth isn't centred towards big cities only, it's visible throughout the country.
sometimes even in a better form,
I can even show you hundred times better which won't even centred in North India or Mumbai. On the face of people directly who call North East India backward.

Nearly 45% of Pakistani urban population lives in slums compared to India's 24%, I have no authority to post link yet but you can Google for UN stats.
Plus
In how many aspects Pakistan does, India has strides in most aspects in infrastructure, second largest road network, larger than China's.
but never felt any emotionally driven proud.
Ever watched China and Far East Section?
Chinese members fill it with their multimedia as a representative of their growth. So, this is our version.:)
The real parameters to measure development and national welfare is to see poor and rich, both, having same opportunities of justice, health and education.
Sure, few decades ago India had just 52% (about half) of Pakistani per capita income, many folds higher poverty ratio and malnourishment rate, lower HDI and literacy and most indicators which India covered up one by one after 90s. Agree or not, social progress in India has taken place much faster than Pakistan.
There's a good reason that India's HDI is 0.609 (Pak at 0.538) and higher quality of life index.
Still, India is nowhere near we wanna be. So, this thread represents a picture what India wants to be.

And "same income and facilities" don't matter. Developed countries have higher income gaps but still middle class of developing countries is nowhere near their "poor" people.

Gap may expand but capitalist economy grows way faster than socialist ones.

I understood exactly what you said. I repeat my point again: Learn from us as we learned from others and just maybe you can pull your country out of the grave you've dug for yourselves instead of spreading pessimism. We are not there yet but we are going places. Far more places than you can imagine. Yes the Indian economy is larger. It is not 6x larger but almost 11x. We ain't there yet, I can assure you I am fully aware of that but we have grown a lot faster than you and will continue to do so in the medium term.

Hopefully someday we can all develop. I would rather see a wealthy Pakistan then a poor one. A poor Pakistan breeds extremist filth like a festering wound and spreads this infection throughout the globe. A wealthy Pakistan would be secular, educated NOT in the control of rabid Mullahs and extremist ideologies. Good luck

Comparing Pak. Vs. India is unfair.

For eg. India's Punjab is smaller then Pak Punjab yet has fed India for decades re: green revolution.
Sindh is also an agri. and biz. province. Azad Kashmir and Balochistan also contribute to Pak. GDP above their per cap. weighted average.
  • Proper would be Pak. Vs. North West India only ie. Punjab-Gujarat-Rajasthan-J&K.
Herein lies the rub, even the above N-W part of India has COME FROM BEHIND AND MOVED AHEAD of it's comparatively richer Pak. nieghbourhood specially in the past 25 yrs. of liberalisation.

Conversely, including South India throws the comparison between Pak. and India completely off to the right.

It's UP and Bihar that sink the Indian comparison but UP and specailly Bihar have been on such a tear for the last 10 yrs.; thr future of Indo-PAk. comparsions is I'm afraid totally biased against Pak. Else they were throwing comparisons off to the left field.

Sample a new part for a new city NOIDA in UP.
