Our country progress was upset by USA led war in Afghanistan & Iraq in which we were surrounded by massive enemies forces, while Frankenstein manpower was utilized by enemies either. If we would not engaged in war, we have better HDI comparison.

But things will changed after some years because we have to recover previous damage as well as following the development. With amelioration of institutions we would standing on our previous developing trend. :pdf:

I do not know what is the implication of a higher or lower consumption by the middle-class of a country. The graph shows less middle-class consumption in the rich countries like Germany and Japan. This is opposite to India and China.

Sheer quantity makes it up. Our middle class is more than the population of many European countries combined. Even if per person spend is less, it makes up when you see the overall nation. On the other hand, developed countries have reached a point where they cannot grow any further economically at the speed at which they used to.

This was a very sensible decision that the Maha govt took. They knew that Nagpur is an upcoming metro city of the future. While it has other political reasons, this one was enough to justify a metro early on so that when urbanisation increases in the city, people have a ready transport system for mass transit rather than relying on over-crowded local trains.

With so many metro projects running in the country simultaneously, I feel that we need to start focusing on integrating much of rail urban rail transit with other intermodal transport options.

small patches here and there, dont get me wrong my friend but India still is under developed, i'm sure India will develop further but you still need to take care of your over population, criminal cases and corruption.
A well developed society or country needs well educated citizens in order to develop.
I respect asian people because they work hard but still you people need to work smart.:-)
I have heard from one of my Indian friends that South India is more developed and civilized than rest of India combined?:undecided: is that true?:o:

There are a lot of inefficiencies here and we acknowledge it. Especially in the government sector which remains nepotic, corrupt and inefficient in every way, unless someone like our current PM sits on their heads and forces them.

Indians sadly respond only to force; we haven't reached a state where we would do things out of our own volition, especially when it is concerned with constructive work.

However, that is changing. It will take time but we will get there.

India to drive global growth for 30 years: IMF

a1.png

TNN | Updated: Aug 9, 2018, 17:51 IST

NEW DELHI: India’s economy is picking up and growth prospects look bright - partly due to the implementation of recent policies, such as the nationwide goods and services tax (GST), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said.

The IMF expects economic growth to pick up to about 7.3 per cent for fiscal year 2018-19 and 7.5 per cent in 2019-20 on strengthening investment and robust private consumption.

Over the medium term, the economic outlook is projected to continue to improve and GDP growth is expected to rise to 7.75 per cent, reflecting continued robustness in private consumption and a recovery in investment, supplemented by progress in bank balance sheet repair, improved credit growth, and ongoing structural reforms, most notably the productivity-enhancing effects of GST.

As one of the world's fastest-growing economies - accounting for about 15 per cent of global growth - India's economy has helped to lift millions out of poverty and could help power global growth.

Ranil Salgado, the head of the IMF team for India, said the country's economy can be a long-run source of global growth. ''After all, it is a key driver of global economic growth, next only to China and the US,'' he said.

''India has three decades before it hits the point where the working-age population starts to decline. So that's a long time. For the next three decades, it is a source of growth for the global economy and could be even longer. But for three decades India can be almost what China was for the world economy for a while,'' Salgado said.

It said economic risks are tilted to the downside. On the external side, risks include a further increase in international oil prices, tighter global financial conditions, a retreat from crossborder integration, including spillover risks from a global trade conflict, and rising regional geopolitical tensions. The IMF supported the recent tightening of interest rates

Well Pakistan needs nuclear arsenal to counter enemies, so we establish it.

Second we have institutions that can serve for nation, indeed some factors i.e Hospitals, schools are required to renovation to transforming with new age. Our 50 to 80 attention was on GWOT which was the strategic factor to stop enemies & their downtown. :pakistan:

Approx 20% budget goes toward army, by the way who is army ???, probably every body have its relative in army. So we are army, you can say me i am army.

i told you hospitals are not a big project for any political gov, because political gov looking to developing every phase of society. Its childish thought that kept one or two factors for debate, where you even know we had done a big operation i KPK against terrorism.

So far as i understand Economy, the steps taken by Modi to uplift poor from the bottom of income pyramid, very soon Indian poor class will have some surplus income to be spent beyond their basic need. This should generate a great domestic demand in FMCG which will drive Indian Economy to a new level. MM tried to increase consumption by Indian middle class but Indian middle class is unwilling to spend more in proportion of increase in Income. If we lift a bellow poverty line class upward, their surplus income will certainly be spent in generating great demand in the various sectors. Simultaneously, many sectors like automobile, chemical, Pharma, will also witness a great growth in export. Many new sectors like medical tourism shall also come up. Over all outlook of Indian economy looks very positive. Massive scale solar power getting available very cheaply will make India an electricity surplus state. Defense sector is also witnessing a great degree of indigenization. Textile sector should boost employment so as agriculture sector.

India’s economy is an elephant starting to run – IMF

India will remain the world’s fastest-growing economy as the country begins reaping the rewards of the ongoing structural reforms, according to Ranil Salgdo, the IMF’s mission chief for India.
Solgado described India’s $2.6 trillion economy as an elephant that is starting to run. Growth of the world’s sixth-biggest economy is expected to soar to 7.3 percent in the current fiscal year, ending in March 2019, and 7.5 percent next year. The current pick-up reportedly follows a drop to 6.7 percent in the previous fiscal year.

According to the Washington-based institution, India makes up 15 percent of the entire global growth

My heart goes out to you brother.

Please understand, Pakistan is an ideological place. India, not!

Pakistan was on course to be the Germany of Asia. Agricultural bounty is the bedrock of technological prowess specially since WW II re-boot of the world.

Something is so rotten in Pakistan that even India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have moved on.
