India Developing, but still a long way to go

Your dream will come true in time, but not through any laws or legislation, but by economic growth. People buy scooters not by choice, but because they cant afford any better. :undecided:. That being said, personally I dont understand this hate towards 2 wheeler riders. I know they can be very annoying and contribute to traffic jams but when I am on road, there are far worse things to worry about - crazy drunk truck drivers, spoiled Lutyens Delhi type chutiyas driving their father's SUVs, Newly rich Haryanvi village idiots with their new SUVS, Salman Khan etc:lol: among other things.

They’re all morons, but the biggest ones out there are two wheeler riders owing to the dimensions of their vehicles. Traffic lights and zebra crossings are mere suggestions for these annoying people, and let’s not forget that most riders think the laws of physics don’t apply to them.

My point is here, are these all projects focusing on through the consideration of Poverty reduction by improving the qualitative and quantitative understanding of the linkages between sector-level interventions and for the poor households? because obsession of these infrastructures creates desolate feel among poor people who live their life below the basic standard and this all-white elephant just a proudest political achievement without addressing the poverty of those poor peoples.

those roads are not access controlled so they serve all , bikes , cycles anything can use it and they use it . LOL our national highways are anything but "white elephants" , what makes you think that they are white elephants ? most of the highways are extensively used and some even get congested and prove to be insufficient.
And our national highways are not because of "obsession" with infrastructure . It was the need of the hour when they were built . How are you going to remove poverty without even providing basic road connectivity to every part of the country , specially for a huge country like India . As far as i know better connectivity always results in development and reduction of poverty . It is not rocket science .

Mega Roads if they are underutilized and not accessible to common poor person and he/she not able to sell his/her output to market then I said it is white elephant and are just one element of country infrastructure rather alleviate at some point poverty but now may be used as a political achievement to gain vote for next election. The well-being of the poor is assessed in terms of their exposure to risk, their vulnerability, and powerlessness. This multi-dimensionality of well-being means that the effectiveness of interventions to attack poverty have to be assessed in broader terms. For example, let's take one example of the national common issue we all understand without potable water and sanitation health is at risk. how many poor people are suffering their life has no toilet in India and their health at risk. I think there's also one Bollywood movie name called "Toilet" where the Movie gives us true common men perception that access to a Toilet is your right, not a luxury. but in reality, the problem of open defecation is a lot more than bad hygiene. It’s a threat to a woman’s security,dignity and health.

again those roads are simple 4 lane roads which is the rock bottom basic infra that a huge country like india must have. It is an absolute necessity . And all of us in india are aware of the sanitation problem . Work is being done by the government . There is also a cultural aspect to that problem which makes it that much more difficult to solve

I have driven in said places and 2-wheelers usually don't bother me because they are fast and weave to the top of the Red-light released traffic flow, but the weird Jeep type utility vehicles over-loaded with people and goods (junk) and the Tata 407 type vehicles are a big hazard to cars.

Traffic police is shit, total shit. Like someone said it's more extortion police rather then traffic police.
India desperately needs proper traffic mgmt. otherwise all that access-shakkess for the poor ends up killing them because they can't drive, have no manners and also drugs and drunk driving at high speed specially by the poor makes it a death trap for them and others.

India's new highways are just too much of a thrill ride for the poor.

7 Things About India's Economy In 2018
1. The Industrial sector is on an upward growth


Recent data from the country's Index of Industrial Production shows that the sector is growing rapidly. The growth has been recorded as up to 7% on average for much of 2018. This represents a great trend for a country that is aiming at getting more income from industrial exports. India mostly relies on other sectors as the industries are barely developed. Investors who might be interested in the country could, therefore, look at some of the available opportunities in the production sector.

2. The economy's accounts deficit is healthy

The economy of India has been doing fairly in the financial sector as well. As of 2018, financial statistics have shown that the current account deficit is less than 1% of the GDP. There are indeed many indicators of an economy on a positive growth trend and one of the key indicators is the current account. India has been implementing a raft of measures to contain the levels of borrowing in the country. The interest rates have also been healthy for a few years now.

3. The economy is one of the fastest growing in the world

With over 7% annual GDP growth, India was recorded by the World Bank as one of the fastest growing economies in 2017. In fact, the country was in the top five fastest-growing economies that year. In 2018, the trend has not waned as the economy is still performing greatly. Projections have shown that the strong trend will continue well into the coming year as well. 4. The unemployment rate is still high

Even though most indicators have shown that the economy is performing well, there is still a huge deficiency in jobs. The country grapples with a huge population that requires a high rate of job creation every year. Analysts have often cited that up to 10 million jobs are demanded every year in India. If the population continues to grow faster than the economy, then this situation will get even messier in the near future.

5. The financial market is growing

Another sector that has experienced a huge growth is the financial sector. The stock market recorded nearly 30% growth in 2017 according to data from the Sensex index of India. In comparison to European financial markets, the Indian market is still in its infancy years. The prospects, however, look pretty great if the performance levels that have been experienced in recent years will be maintained.

6. Inflation rates have decreased in 2018

The data from India's Consumer Price Index has recently shown that the performance in the prices of goods has been fair. The data from March particularly shows that a slight decrease in the CPI has been recorded. Before March, the inflation rate was recorded as 4.44% but this came down to 4.28%. The general trend appears to show that the level that will be released soon for the preceding months will also be encouraging.

7. Infrastructure sectors have experienced growth

Finally, the main infrastructural sectors have also experienced unabated growth. Sectors like the cement industry have particularly recorded a strong growth which has been the anchor for the other infrastructural sectors. In total, the infrastructural sectors recorded a growth of over 4% over the last year according to data from the national agencies.

The Indian economy is definitely interesting for analysts all over the world. India is a country with a great potential which has some impressive statistics. The country is attractive to investors from around the world who would like to venture into developing markets. As of 2018, the data from this economy shows some optimistic trends.

It's great, I am rather happy and envious at the same time to see India develop. Where as our f**king rat pack "leaders" are doing everything to destroy Pakistan from within.
