What's new

India Developing, but still a long way to go

Indian real-estate market Top 3 Globally reported headlines. No, I say it's # 1; check below.
  • I read the above media line so got curios. Guess # 1 & 2 ? - Serbia and Bulgaria !
Those 2 are like off-the-map kind of places, so sorry. Where in the world are they and how big?

Conclusion: India's real estate market tops the world.

Adjusted for sheer numbers, and .. hehe... black money, it's way out top. Over 50 % is 'balck'.
Meaning the bricks and mortar are all there but no accounting. No numbers on the books.

India's market is no match for anything but sliding China and zooming with road, rail and metro rail opening up vast new land tracts around it's mega cities. There's even talk of a bubble. Prices are normalizing, becoming affordable to hard working middle classes; but the media screams crash-crash-crashing.

'Real-estate' is a word normally associated with first Hong-Kong, then Singapore and till recently Dubai in Indian minds.

  • Rs. 100 sq./ft. per month re. dlf chennai IT Park above. That's Pak. Rs. 1200 sq./ft. per yr. :woot: !
Approx. $ 100 for 10 x 10 sq./ft. per head.
No wonder low-to-mid level bug fixing work moved to India combined with millions of skilled, readily available and public sector experienced Indian IT types.

Further, India's cheap yet massive IT surge also threw up a cohort of world class professionals Globally. This later cohort includes overseas, NRI, Gulf, South-East Asian and even Sri Lankan origin professionals building bridges and leading from the front. Sad Pakistan is nowhere on the map and I beleive the Indians will never let anyone else in, never mind that Pakistan missed he bus on this one. In the past Pakistan could take India head-on with cotton, basmati or leather exports.

Vizag, could have easily become another metropolitan city on par with Chennai and Mumbai.

Unfortunately caste politics have made a Village to be a capital city and construction to begin from drainages.

Surprised to see vijayawada over vishakapatnam for the new AP capital.Vishakapatnam is the 10th biggest city in India as per GDP figures.
