India deploying the world's most advanced ATC system

This one is some Regional power Load Dispatch Center. Th ehorizontal lines we see are voltage buses and the vertical lines are transmission lines connected to them. The circular parts are Circuit breakers.

Fair enough- then is seems the DMRC has released no pics of their control rooms! Very secretive indeed!

But again, I told they are impressive places to be in- wall to wall screens, computer banks everwhere etc

These good looking control rooms act like showcases buddy. Even in cities like delhi, chennai or mumbai, there are only one or 2 such control rooms. Majority of control rooms are overdated and use less technology.
We should deploy them first in tier 1 and tier 2 cities and rapidly expand all over India.
In spite of all these hi tech police control rooms, they haven't yet caught a single policeman taking 'hafta' or bribes! :undecided: :P

Lol even if i go pose with a bomb before a CCTV they cannot catch me :P Hell 70pc of CCTV do not work or not connected to the network

This might seem trivial to some but this sort of tech, or lack there of has serous implications on the day-day life and safety for many Indians. I remember learning about the Charkhi Dadri mid-air collision and the fact was that it was India's outdated radar/ATC systems that played a critical part in this tragic incident.

Delhi ATC was not responsible for the mid air collision of Charki Dadri................according to Crash investigation report it was the altitude meter of Kazak flight that displayed wrong data.................

Abingdon is right. Though the Kazakh airliner had data showing in different measuring terms, the ATC equipment used at the time had its limitations. But of course, the ATC operator was at no fault. He was cleared .

After the two planes collided into the sky one of kazak and second of other country, India is the first country decided to use 3D Radar instead 2D on the Report of the accident.

No it was not instrument failure that led to the disaster at Chrki Dadri. It was faulty understanding by cockpit crew and wrong execution of ATC instructions regarding altitude to be maintained that led to it. Apart from the fact that the Kazakh freighter crew was reading off altitude in meters while the Saudia jumbo crew was reading in feet. Finally the the ATC opeator was constrained by the fact that his 2D radar only showed Range and Azimuth but not Elevation, so he had no way to monitor whether his instructions were complied with.

Whilst it was the Kazak flight at fault- if a better ATC was in place then the diaster could have been avoided.

@Abingdonboy,
Yes it could have been avoided probably, Now there is another benefit of this new-gen ATC system. Its being integrated into the IAF radar systems so IAF radar coverage is also getting boosted and its situational awareness is improving.

If I am not wrong, until recently we had AT2 on all airports.

very good news. I have heard with this system passenger planes can land in thick fog too, is it true?

We had AT 1 system at that time. After that incident we installed AT2.

that's correct.
