India declines to give Dhaka corridor

India should make it clear that it will not give us the transit if we do not give them the corridor, instead of using excuses!

Indians are shrewed enough to play with this card for long to get their interests minted from Bangladesh so no they wont state that clearly

we shouldn't help the GoI anymore then, this is a proof that, they will not keep their words. Lesson learned, case closed. Anything else done with Indians, now need to be done carefully and with written down agreements. If they don't respect and honour their words then we should do the same.

Oopsie, my bad, this was supposed to go to the Delhi Stalls Tripura Electricity Export to Dhaka thread, sorry guys. GO ahead and fight :D

Let them cry. No one wants to discuss rationally. They all want to bash India.

What's the point of discussing with people who don't want to listen to points related to the matter ?

Just leave them and let them whine. When China builds dams on Brahmaputra, no one cries but India do anything, they have problem. Just imagine what would have been reaction if we announce 2 more dams on Brahamputra as we need energy to fuel our economy.

Actually,India is going to build it.it is in today's newspaper..now,Bangladeshis will start crying..  evil hindoos..

Within the government, there is an urgency to dam the waters of the Brahmaputra in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. Some of this makes Bangladesh uneasy, but India is going out of its way to accommodate Dhaka's concerns even to the extent of giving it a stake in these projects. None of this is forthcoming from China to India, however.

Ensure our states aren’t hit by your Brahmaputra dams, India tells China - The Times of India

It is give and take my friend. Pakistan has failed miserably in making use of their strategic position for transit. I thought BD is lot smarter but looks like you are equally mired in stupid politics.

We need to involve the other nations in talk, if nepal or bhutan are benefitting from the transit, should then not be present in the talks.
I can understand there will be quid-pro-quo from bd side (say in form of transit) but what about nepal and bhutan?

Nepal and Bhutan is very keen to make good relation with us.
There is no question they are ready to give electricity if they have. And if we can convince India then it will be helpful for us.
But I think an agreement should be signed within this gov time.
Otherwise we will not see any electricity for next five years other than some "Khamba(poles)".

Indians understands very well transit is bilateral issue between Bangladesh and India NOT Nepal or Bhutan. They are here to echo indian govt lie and deception.

There are some serious issues with your comprehension.. even a complete doofus can see the situations here!!

Nepal and Bhutan want to sell their electricity(goods) to Bangladesh. ie they are selling party.
India is the one which has to give to give transit to Nepali and Bhutanese goods(electricity)
Bangladesh is just the final customer for those Nepalese/Bhutanese goods.

SO either transit is a bilateral issue for Nepal/Bhutan and India. or it is trilateral issue b/w all three..in no way transit for Nepalese goods to Bangladesh just a issue b/w India and Bangladesh.

First of all, its an usual Indian trait so no surprise there. Second, can any sane Indian tell me how getting corridor to puny Nepal or Bhutan is worth or even minutely comparable to giving corridor to Indian NE? But we have a malunic dalal scum gov, which is floating this idea as economic bonanza. So this whole transit/corridor fart is not in our interest because:

- Nepal & Bhutan is too puny to us for any sort of economic benefit.
- Importing electricity through a very hostile regional hegemon ,that changes its colors based on who governs BD , is nothing but suicidal. India will be able to close off the corridor at its will regardless of any bilateral/trilateral treaty.
- Also we can't depend on imported electricity no matter what awami malauns say.
- Giving corridor to India a security risk which is no rocket science , that our own security and military analyst have uttered a billion times already. Simply put India should take care of NE through their seliguri corridor, afterall that's the reason why chanakya patel & Nehru took it from the then E.pak during partition.
- Corridor will also have social & economic adverse impact on BD. We can not allow rampant access of illegal drugs, human traffiking, sale of arms and safe heaven for terrorist in India which will become unstoppable & chronic after any sort of corridor deal.

Nepal and bhutan are selling electricity, even if they are small they are the ones who you can buy from. Unless you have plan to increase you generation capacity, you will need to buy. Even we are buying from them.. :)

It is very rich of a Bangladeshi to call Nepal and Bhutan a puny nation have you even seen the size of country, you live in..there is nothing grand about you, except your population and population density. If Nepal and Bhutan are puny to you, you should be an insect to us?

Electricity is something Bangladesh desperately needs, and you need India, if you ever hope to import that electricity. So it is Quid pro quo.

Not desperate enough to give ground for import from/through India. Common sense. The malauns in power in the first 18 months of taking power, did everything it could to induce an artificial power crisis by either not reviving shut down power plants or building new power plants. 30000 cr, is given as subsidy to maintain corruption immersed rental plants enough to build long term gas based plants. We have abundance of coal but yet malauns in power is trying to import coal from their master. Corruption, incompetency & awami dalali is holding BD back. Still it doesn't justify depending on India for power generation. Utter nonsense.

Whatever!! It is your govt's decisions, if they think, they are getting a raw deal ..feel free to move on and establish land trade links which nations, which do not encompass India.

Land trade links with the likes of Bhutan & Nepal is not worth BD's resources. Hegemonic chanakyans are also in the same category but for a different reason. At least the worthlessness of links with Bhutan & nepal is indisputable under the premise of rationality & common sense taking BD's interest into consideration.

Clearly govt of Bangladesh does not agree with your opinion.

Clearly govt of Bangladesh does not agree with your opinion.

Neither does this gov agree with local experts or represent its people.

I know, now U will lecture me about people of BD being pro-India and I am *******. I don't mind at all actually, just didn't want U to waste your precious time replying me. :D
