I think US provides a billion dollars worth of weapons and stuff to Egypt, a year.

Maybe India can do that. I mean 100 million one time credit is not a lot, or anything really. If you are lucky you might be able to buy 1 F-16 with that money though I doubt it.

The 100m bucks will be used for buying 4 India made advanced patrol vessels. You know certainly, every long journey begins with the first step. First come patrol ships, everything else comes with the time.

1) You ought to learn what 'line of credit' means.
2) You ought to check up how much an F-16 costs.

I know what line of credit means, I have it. You need to pay it back or extent credit line before using more. I'm not sure what the exact deal is so I can't comment too much.

I mean F-15 Slam Eagle, US has too damn many F-1x. This forum discusses F-16 much more, so there's the mistake.

You need to get a feel for the tone, I mean this is an internet forum, and we are all busy, so a mistake here and there is unavoidable. But the gist of it is definitely important.

100 million, that's not enough to do anything. I been on yachts that cost more.

The gist is indeed important. But it gets lost when you make a false analogy.

Anyway, the counter "gist" is this. $100 million dollars may not mean much to the defence budget of China or even India, but it is a lot of money for small countries. If you don't believe me, ask your pet Pakistan. China has extended similar lines of credit (of comparable monetary value) to Pak, and those poor sods believe that to be the proof of friendship that is "higher than mountains, deeper than oceans, sweeter than honey". If Pakistanis can delude themsellves into believing that these lines of credit (soft loans) from China mean that they have a new father figure (now that USA is no longer a father figure for them), then surely it will also mean a lot to Vietnam. Of course, neither India nor Vietnam has any delusions about us being big daddy to them and rescuing them in future wars, like Pakistanis have about China.

As the news says, this money is not meant to buy any specific hardware, but to build their capabilities. In that light, it is a lot of money.

So you are saying the Vietnamese will now view India as their father figure? LOL

100 million can support building 4 ships. How small these ships are.

This is actually good news for us. We all know the capability of indian. they are only capable of bullying pakistans.

India can barely even make their own weapons let alone give others weapons. We know the quality (lack thereof) of Indian weapons. I'd much rather Viets have Indian weapons than Yankee weapons.

Vietnam, along with the Philippines, is the most readily available pawn to counter China in a cheap way in these days.

Viets and Pinoys are low class.

The Vietnamese can go first, we're going to join much later.
this shows your true cunning nature. everybody hope the other one could be the cannon fodder for them, forget about your jioning hand to counter China. hilarious.
