Astra which is been inducted has range of 25 kms. The second phase which is under develpoment is for 80 km range ho this clarifies.

I have completely agree with you, since pieace of Babur missile does'nt need any top-notch anti-missile system because such cruise missiles can be shotdown using ultra-cheap anti-aircraft guns.

No country gives up a military project that is going well.

There is huge difference between giving up of projects as compared to closure of projects in terms of successful completion. The projects was called-off only on the grounds of accelerating the projects completion and reduction in total costs. Since there is high leverage of Political interference and corruption in defence affairs and hence foreign cooperation is being pursuded to reduce the impact of ill effects of corruption.

Just because Americans cosying up with India doesn't translate in itself having the emmence influence of Americans on Cornerstone Defence projects of India.
