India-China: The real military equation

@Syama Ayas
half-million?it is two times of the amount of troops in chengdu military region(including sichuan chongqing yunnan guizhou and Tibet ,5 provinces)in fact there are only several frontier guards with light weapons in Tibet and dozens of planes.------it is something all world knows.
about the infrastructure,i said many times.i hope you open Google map and compare with other places of China.

China has a massive advantage in both land and air.

Land is not being debated so no need to go into that.

In the air, China has the advantage of 2x the number of 4th generation aircraft and this will only increase in the future as China is finally able to produce everything by itself and so this would be naturally cheaper - a 40 million dollar J-10B would have similar performance to a 80+ million dollar Rafale is just one example

On sea, in the IOR region the Indian Navy will have an advantage primarily due to the land based air-power that it can deploy against the Chinese Navy. Even the Varyag with 24-30 fighters and the upcoming Type-052D destroyers will not be able to face the combined Indian Navy and Air-Force. However, things will start changing in the 2020s if the rumoured 100,000+ supercarriers are put into service with each being able to carry anywhere from 48-60 stealth jets.

In conclusion, China is superior to India in both land and air and this gap will continue to widen into the future but India currently has an advantage in the IOR at sea primarily as it has access to land-based air-power. This will change in the 2020s if the Chinese 100,000+ supercarriers start coming into service.

I think you need a little researching to do. Of its seven Military Regions, the Lanzhou and Chengdu Military Regions are responsible for the security of Western China. Lanzhou and Chengdu Military Regions account for the deployment of two Army Groups and the Xinjiang Military Districts in the former, and two Army Groups and the Tibet Military District in the latter.

Western Tibet that covers Akshai Chin falls under the Lanzhou military command. The Tibet Military District covers Central, Northern and Eastern Tibet with two Infantry Brigades and an Infantry Regiment. These military resources account for 30 percent of the forces in the Lanzhou and Chengdu Military Regions based on the border between India and Tibet, and the remainder in central Tibet and the North-West. The four Armies based in Western China could be employed to support operations from Tibet against India through flanking attacks through Myanamar or reinforce an offensive from the North. In Addition there are 17 secret radar stations and 14 military airfields, eight missile bases, at least eight ICBMs and 20 intermediate range missiles.

There's more but sufficient to drive home the point that you are way off course in stating that there are only frontier guards with light weapons in Tibet!

i should say there are more than lanzhou and chengdu army can join the game if some enemy invade us from the west.but as long as they dont do this, our main forces are thousands kilometers away from the border.

Its not what China has NOW that matters. Its what they can bring, in times of war. With the excellent road and rail network they have built up in TAR, China will have the ability to bring in division after division of troops to sustain a border conflict. Due to the woefully inadequate infra on India's north east, India will not be able to keep bringing reinforcements for the troops at the border. That is why it is important for India to not look at it in terms of numbers, but in terms of tactics. Like the title says, the "real equation", and not the equation on papers. (Which is what some posters here are missing out, when they keep throwing out numbers of aircrafts that China has. The topic is not about the comparative numbers, but what the real power balance is.

Yes, it is true that most of China's force concentration is on its east. But the Indian war planners have to plan for the worst case scenario, and assume that China can rapidly bring in several divisions to the western border in quick time - which it can, unless India builds up a credible air network that can disrupt Chinese supply lines at least for short durations.

your reaction was on exoected lines.. basically my surmise stands corrected !
you see that most of us dont want to talk about war.because firstly it is on the territory of Vietnam, secondly we killed many their solders and some civilian ,thirdly the force of the two side are very unbalance, fourthly our troops take turns to attack them as high pressure training later in the war

Well,I say that we don't even consider a puny state like india a threa
:omghaha:

you don't have choice to consider or not.......first dare to threaten puny state Vietnam who is giving hard every time..... . btw i like your profile name.... you always been hurt....

china might have stronger force than India..... but shouldn't underestimate Enemy in war.... and over estimate like your doing....

Nevamind.... there won't be any war between India and China.... None country is interested in forward policy..... We interested business with China more than in WAR...... we must aware of superior neighbor.... and should estimate the capacity if China to review our strength..... Did you guys stopped building massive Army and NAVY because US is light years ahead ?

:omghaha:

You don't, but the president of your country does....Now whose words I should follow; yours or the president of your nation.

Are you kidding me. J-10b matching Rafale. With $40 million a piece, it is not even one-fourth in cpability of Rafale.:smitten:

This will change in the 2020s if the Chinese 100,000+ supercarriers start coming into service.

100,000+ supercarriers..-WTF :omghaha:
