Frankly, i like it. Talks of war and insurgencies etc etc are for badly managed states that run like they have a bunch of monkeys and children at the helm who miss the larger point. The true war is against the suffering of our own people.

I know that a bunch of right wingers here may not like it but both the Indians and Chinese are getting millions out of poverty and we would be much more effective if we had good relations with all our neighbors. These enmities serve no purpose other than those who are continents away or to inflate defense budgets when we could use that money better.

I also think it is very difficult, the best chance, India missed twice, taking into account domestic public opinion is now almost impossible for a public concession in the territory. Although I still think that if we can solve this problem to develop a comprehensive partnership will be the best for us.

Actually china wants aksai chin to be accepted by India as a part of China and hand over the tawang district to them . India is ready for the first one , but the talks are stuck at tawang . Entire Arunachal is not really much of an issue .

If you read a little about it , you will know . it is historically an important place for Tibetans . The 6th dalai lama was born there and it was a part of tibet till 1951 . India took control of Tawang only in 1951 . Now that India has accepted Tibet as a part of China , China is claiming Tawang as well . The tawang monsatery is also of a very important religious significance to tibetans . Other areas of Arunchal dont have such historical links with tibet , hell people in other parts of Tibet are not even Buddhist mostly .

China is claiming whole of Arunachal so that in the end it can coerce India to Accept aksai chin as a part of china and have India hand over atleast the Tawang district.

A little research on google will provide with a lot of knowledge about his.

once again wake me up when it happens i think only way to resolve issue is how we did in 2004 India recognized Tibet as apart of China, China did the same by recognizing Sikkim as apart of India, if we recognize Aksai Chin apart of China would they recognize Arunachal as apart of India?

Trouble is, the Chinese aren't interested in Aksai Chin as it's a frozen piece of real estate where no one can live and nothing can grow and lacking in resources and therefore can't contribute an iota to the economy. What really interests them is Arunachal which they claim is theirs according to history. And India isn't going to hand this area over to them. So it's a zero sum game which probably will never end!

Those who think that this border dispute can be solved, are living in a fool's paradise!

i forgot what its called but Aksai Chin has a important road that links Xinjian and tibet together even before 1962 we never really had control of Aksaii Chin only the western areas near Ladakh which are almost impossible to live in

Wrong, Aksai Chin may be a frozen wasteland but strategically its very important for China as the main highway connecting Xinjiang Province with Tibet passes through Aksai Chin.

They are interested in keeping aksai chin and getting Tawang for us in return for which they plan to give up claim on rest of Arunachal even if it is absurd .

I do not think China needs even Tawag, coz if they really needed that place, they would not have vacated that place in 1962 after occupying it. Its just for argument sake. Though we should talk to Chinese, never leave our guard. We do not want any surprises more..

^^^^^ very much indeed we cannot turn our backs on China otherwise they will stab us in the back like in 1962 where Nehru and his naive A$$ did not prepare for conflict but pissed China off by sheltering the Tibetans and enacting the forward policy i think we should just put 300,000 reserve troops in NE and put 12 air force squadrons in the NE we should also build missile bases and nuclear weapons facilities in Meghalaya and other NE states to deter China

that may work but Pakistan and its ISI don't believe in status quo
