India, China move to challenge Opec's sway on oil prices

"India and China should buy oil from some one else".

and still both countries will suffer without oil.

its simple Chinese sell their technology with almost minimum of 20 times the profit as compared to manufacturing cost. Why can't OPEC do the same.

Yes but you have to be economical if you want to survive for long run ..Higher oil prices make way to a lot of investment in alternate energy and technology .. Keeping prices high may be good for short term but it will hurt opec nations in long term ..

I seriously hope this works, long time back i was able to do tank full in two wheelers for 500Rs.

for 2.5 billion people alternate energy will leave you behindthe world.You cannot sacriice your economic activities just for this one reason.

Already electricity production is not dependent on oil and has become a major source of our day today energy needs .. Transportation is only the major area where you need oil ..If oil rates remain high it will catalyse the process of electrical locomotives capturing the major market ..

There is something called Asian Premium i.e we pay extra for oil compared to western countries when oil is imported from gulf.

You are a part of Asia as well. the OPEC premium will equally impact you in the future. Pakistani oil companies should also come forth in this effort to negotiate a reasonable deal for their citizens. This whole "ASIA PREMIUM" crap is hurting all Asian countries.

We should start swaying towards other sources as an alternate measure. Russia, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Brunei and Indonesia are some very good alternates.

It is electricity which is replacing oil in every sector ..If large quantity storage becomes economical then it will be death for oil markets ..

We are getting gas from US probably should also import shale oil as well but that would also require changes in refinery as well bcos most of the refineries are built to refine middle east oil.

Do you know how much solar panel used to be 5-10 years back and now? The same thing will happen once Li demand is higher and there are enough sources to cater.

solar panels and electric system are un reliable for long journeys. Even a small vehicle will cost almost 1 crore Pakistani rupees if you want it to be on par with the cheaper oil based vehicle.
u cant deny the facts.
efiiciency of solar panels and its life and efficiency w.r.t. time do matter. For this application it is simply not economical.
