Rajnath had a meeting with Service Chiefs of the Indian Army to discuss and formulate new Indian policy towards China in Ladakh standoff.

It seems after facing accusations of capitulation and cowardice by Modi and Indian Army, the Indians are waking up to the reality that they have suffered a serious and huge set back internationally. They are made to look weak and incapable to deter China and defend their claimed territories against China.

The irony for India is that their new policies would bring them more humiliations if they try to up the ante against the Chinese forces. More such encounters or widening of the war, may results more slaps from the Chinese on the faces of Indian Army.

This is a war, India cannot win, it would only get humiliated further.

Actually! India has no option but to sit tight --- till that US openly enters fore (which they are in no mood to do at the moment).

In the meantime China will encircle India.

It is worse than that, it forces India into a new cold-war/arms race with China, which it will find difficult to sustain. The Chinese Army is x2 that of the Indian Army. The Chinese can maintain their positions, and still train their army for war through troop rotation. India cannot, given it also has operational requirements against Pakistan.

Strategically, this will degrade the ability of the IA to wage war effectively, if they are forced into holding positions against China.

Maybe, that is what China is looking to achieve.

You are underestimating the prowess of Indian media. They can change any loss and humiliation into victory. They are even asking Indian Govt and military to teach a lesson to Chinese like the way India taught a lesson to Pakistan on 26th Feb.

They are moving artillery pieces and heavy armours to the front line in Ladakh.
This definitely would result in reciprocal response from the Chinese, resulting in deepening situation.
