India, China discuss preparations for joint army exercise

True, people are generally not that different when you come right down to it.

Most want the same things, just to live a good life, provide for their family and to do well for themselves and their people.

[The exception being the guy in post #13 (isro222) ranting about Obama capturing mermaids and sub-humans migrating into space with the Reptilians and the Greys.]

yes, normal people don't like about army, navy, airforce, tanks, ships because they know it is unneeded. people want house, job and clothes three main things. not warships tanks etc. both country have millions of hungry peoples both country have good historical friendships too. so the war age or time is gone.why we west our money and time to bill army??? when both country can change by help each other??? this time is best for make change to help each other. because both counters are future superpowers.

There's nothing about liking or disliking China, it's some news papers who creates a paranoia to earn more revenue. If GoI disliked China much, then mutual trade wouldn't have double digit growth for over a decade.

The fact is, Indo-China border is much more peaceful than Indo-Pak or Indo-Bangladesh border.

sir i think your second image is horribl. i think your second photo is good avater for u.

Who wants to start rolling with the conspiracy theories? :cheesy:

Where is isro2222 and his Alien Greys and Reptilians?

It was bound to happen sooner or later...China is a growing power of the century....So and to become a super power or global power to replace US in another 20 year, the onus is always on the powerful nations to provide concessions to less powerful nation like India...Because powerful nations have the flexibility and capacity to give concessions which others can not...

China need a supportive ASEAN, SK, Japan and to some extent India to become supportive to its status...or at max do not oppose its status as a replacement of US in the diplomatic level...And as Chines leaders and smart and always takes long term vision...they may want to make relation with India as not as an enemy one... And also from India perspective....there is not any such kind of emotional outburst of negative feeling towards China unlike Pakistan... So if China provides some concession in nay form being a superior power to India, Indian politician can bargain to provide greater cooperation to China and also convince electorate...

We don't want to replace the USA, we just want to join the great powers as one of the "poles" in a multi-polar world.

I agree with you...My means of global power should not be construed as replacing USA, rather China deserves to be great power as its people has made a good amount of sacrifices to achieve this status that you have achieved now..

lets see how much this era of indian army can offer!

Somewhere in Rawalpindi there is a certain amount of consternation on this.

Equally bad, there is consternation within a building with an oval shaped office.

Whereas in Zhongnanhai, I don't think there will be much consternation at all.

Because there it's a win-win.
You reduce Pro-American sentiment in India and you reduce a front.. hence "Carrots".
At the same time you are encouraging the reduction of US influence in Pakistan while retaining it as the "stick" to India.

its sheer diplomatic balancing at its best.

That's a nice way of looking at it. :D

The USA can't win all the time, that would just make for a very boring world.

Saying India is pro-US is going a bit far. India is pro-India, it protects its interests above all else and there is much evidence to support this. Any improvement in ties with China is a separate issue to Indo-US relations.

If anything this is excellent diplomatic balancing by India who is warming relations with China (the US' supposed 'rival') at the same time it is bettering ties with the US and West. India is able to juggle ties and relations with those whom one would be expecting to face animosity for allying with another. In the same way India is a able to have good ties with the Arab world and very close ties with Israel. It is because it is accepted by the majority of the world that India has a desire to remain independent and neutral above all else and as such does not have concrete alliances and foregone ties.
