Except Japan, it is not that much easy.
why do we need 10k range... our enemies are next door neighbour.
should we not build capability based on threat perception...You are not a true military power if you don't have the capability to strike across the entire globe.

its fine if we are not true military power..who cares. Then, you are not a true military power if you fear to offend some other third party.
USA/Russia/China, which of these countries doesn't have the capability to strike across the globe?
He didn't say we will have it in near future but we have the capability. Its a good think as no one knows how geo politics will change in next 10 years.I don't see why we need a 10000km BM right now. Maybe 20-30 years from now, but now it'll only put the west on edge.
That's Like buying unnecessary tension. We will do the right think if the need arise not unnecessarily when there is no need. Then, you are not a true military power if you fear to offend some other third party.

I suppose you cannot drive this thing around in significant portions of India. And it will be difficult to hide (trainbased versions would make more sense?). However, while a silo-based version would make sense from a support and protection pov, it is inherently more vulnerable because locations will eventually be known.
This is NOT the definitive TEL for this Missile. That is a work in progress along side the canisterisation of Missiles. Rail-based launchers are already designed. Hardened Silos will also be used with Mobile Launchers. Both will have a mix of actual and dummy launchers incorporated within them.
Sir ,
I do not see need to have dummy launchers incorporated in hardened silos ....could you explain on that, why it should be the case ?
well the people concerned would know ...we don't have to. what i am saying is that since hardened silos are supposed to be secured against even nuclear attack and since they cost mighty to build and maintain - then there is no need to waste the missile 'bunker' space by keeping dummy thereWell we will never be sure what is in a canister or a silo. That is part of the game.
