India cannot stop Silk Road plan, warns Chinese media

Indians thought that the international community would back India against Pakistan. What a reality check this has been for them. On top of that, Israel, one of India's best buddies, now trying to woo the Chinese. Indians are having a very bad week! LOL!
With rising anti-Semitism in the USA (President Trump - I am the least anti-Semitist!!!) who knows China may be their one of the next "Zion"s!!!!

You could be right. The Israelis are doing an 'Asia Pivot'. Their days in the West are heading towards a sunset.

China's One Belt, One Road project envisages a land economic belt to South and Central Asia and Europe, and a maritime "silk road" to Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean.

China's "One Belt, One Road" (OBOR) infrastructure plan was receiving "broad global support" despite India's objections to the plan, Chinese state media said on Monday.

This came after China's diplomats on Friday hailed a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution which for the first time mentioned the OBOR, which envisages a land-economic belt to South and Central Asia and Europe, and a maritime "silk road" to Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean.

India isn't among the countries that have backed the plan, as a key flagship project of the OBOR is an economic corridor through Azad Kashmir (Azad Kashmir). China is hosting the first OBOR summit in Beijing in May, with 20 global leaders and representatives from 50 countries and international organisations expected. India hasn't yet decided on its representation at the summit.

'WATCHING THE RISE OF CHINA'

Indian officials have repeatedly expressed concerns to China about the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) violating its sovereignty in Azad Kashmir, which is Indian territory. China has similarly objected to economic exploration projects in the South China Sea, for instance between India and Vietnam.

CPEC was initiated more than a year before President Xi Jinping unveiled the OBOR plan in 2013. China made the decision to include the CPEC as a flagship corridor under the OBOR rather than carry it forward as a separate project, essentially closing the door to any Indian involvement in OBOR.

"New Delhi cannot prevent the growth of the OBOR's influence," the Global Times, a Communist Party-run tabloid published by the official People's Daily, said in a commentary on Monday. "If India wants to exclude itself from the OBOR at a time when the initiative is receiving widespread support from the global community, India will end up simply watching the rise of China's international reputation."

CREATING A FAVOURABLE ATMOSPHERE FOR CHINA

The paper said that "despite concerns from India, broader support has been given to the OBOR from the international community".

As the UNSC on Friday adopted a resolution to extend the mandate of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) by one year, the text called on countries to "strengthen the process of regional economic cooperation, including measures to facilitate regional connectivity, trade and transit, including through regional development initiatives such as the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road (the Belt and Road) Initiative".

Chinese diplomats have portrayed the reference as a diplomatic victory of sorts, with Liu Jieyi, the Chinese permanent representative to the United Nations, saying it showed "the consensus of the international community on embracing the concept, and manifesting huge Chinese contributions to the global governance".

Liu said the move would be "conducive to creating a favourable atmosphere for China to host a Belt and Road forum for international cooperation in Beijing this May in order to brainstorm on interconnected development."

BEIJING WANTS DELHI TO ADOPT AN OPEN ATTITUDE

The Global Times said if "Delhi has concerns about the CPEC as a flagship project in the OBOR, India's joining the initiative could cement its economic ties with China and possibly shift the initiative's center of gravity."

"The dispute over Kashmir between India and Pakistan makes New Delhi habitually vigilant against any possibility of large-scale foreign investment flowing into the region, but it is necessary to learn to distinguish activities between normal commercial investment and ones that could violate India's sovereignty. Both the OBOR and the CPEC are economic initiatives. Hopefully India will wake up to the benefits and adopt an open attitude toward joining the initiatives."

CPEC A VIOLATION OF SOVEREIGNTY, SAYS INDIA

India, however has disregarded China's argument of the CPEC being "purely economic" and pointed out that China has on numerous instances objected to economic projects in the South China Sea, for instance when India and Vietnam took forward exploration projects.

Stressing that India was a "pro-connectivity country" with a number of regional connectivity projects, Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar conveyed to China at the February 22 strategic dialogue in Beijing that it was a fact that the CPEC "violates Indian sovereignty because it runs through Azad Kashmir".

"The issue is not about connectivity per se," Jaishankar said. "The fact is CPEC is part of this particular initiative and CPEC violates Indian sovereignty because it runs through Azad Kashmir. Therefore, since they are a country very sensitive to sovereignty concerns it was for them to see how a country whose sovereignty has been violated can come on an invitation. We would like to see what proposals anybody has in that regard," Jaishankar said.

Why Indians are allowing their nationalistic feelings cloud their judgement? Pakistan and China have been cooperating with each other via mutual border - built KKH...Suddenly, the moment CPEC announced, Indians start shouting; disputed territory, disputed territroy...Ok...Pakistan is ready to solve Kashmir issue through talks, is India ready for that? By the way GB is not part of Kashmir. So, Indian claims of disputed territory are void...Indians love to chant Democracy mantra...well, people of Kashmir hate Indians with passion and don't want themselves to be associated with India...So, will of people is not with India...Indians should respect Kashmiris and their will...hitting them with pellet guns is a proof how much Indians care about local people of that valley...idiotically resisting OBOR won't lead Indian anywhere except some recognition from anti China forces.

If India didn't join CPEC then i see no future of India and India will loss all her economic achievements. India must see though her ego and must join CPEC otherwise all countries start bypass her.

If India join then she may get benefits simple is that

Again an idiotic rant, India has its own plans regarding trade and economics. There is no compromise on the corridor that is passing through disputed territory.

India stands for development and welfare of the people in this region.

We will see if the same idiotic confidence will be there in you to talk rubbish down the lane when your economy slows and India gathers muscle.

...Anyway, its b/w China and India...Lets see what happens...

'INDIA CAN'T STOP US FROM GETTING 27% ROI FROM PAK':angry::china:
What 27%???? It's >>>1000%!!! The USA gave only 40 F16s to Pak and they won the cold war for them!!!!! Similarly, the USSR just got dissipated in the thin air for they broke Pak. Chinese know the math!!!! Whoever befriends Pak wins at the global level, and vice versa...

Let us examine the title closely. China does not need anyone's help to connect to Central Asia and South East Asia. They are already physically connected. I do not see the point of connecting to South Asia if India does not join. Connecting to Europe is a laudable achievement. The easiest way to achieve it is through Russia. This is assuming Russia is stable.

The whole OBOR project is a smokescreen

China's One Belt, One Road project envisages a land economic belt to South and Central Asia and Europe, and a maritime "silk road" to Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean.

Nobody is inviting you to party. We just wanna make sure you dont drink too much and ruin the party. Work on OBOR is going on without Indian inclusion.
Come out of well....OBOR is beyond CPEC...China wants to make road connecting Bangladesh and Kolkata and China wants to India to join it. so China is the nobody who is inviting us in the party...

CPEC is everything for you but not for us....sorry we are not joining.

No need to. China is right next door. We can continue exporting our lower end consumer electronics to you and increase the trade surplus.
Thank you for accepting that Chinese products are low quality

I dont know about others .So far I didnt used Pakistan's name in other forums .
You can use a nation's name only if that concerns your foreign policy .Perhaps that would be case in Indian Forums .
But in PDF ,I have seen a lots of thread ,everywhere they will drag India.India do this ,India do that .Even for remote Pak internal affairs .
On indian defence forums I have seen sadists celebrating the death of junaid jumshed and gloating in the beating of a 1 year old Pakistani American boy. How is that related to foreign policy?

This is why we allow some indians here to debunk or refute the misconceptions about their country or military but instead they go full retard.
