What's new

India can be pivot in US-China rivalry, get benefits from both

Chinese people are very cunning, and China is growing stronger each day, You will not be able to squeeze anything from them.

till date India's non alignment policy is doing well. be it with signing 123 agreement with USA and taking its advantages and on the other hand developing close relationship with china on trade and economic front. india has to maintain the close relationship with china and at the same time to balance the aggression of china, india has to increase his power and at diplomatic front should look at the east asian countries.
in world politics, there is no such thing called love affairs, only national interest persists.

India and China which are home to 1/3 'rd of humanity can not be loggerheads with each other ...

peaceful co-existence is only option for two countries ...

India's independent foreign policy could only be solution to maintain balance in its relations vis a vis two great powers as Sino -American race hots up, even as India embarks to improve lives of its billion plus people amidst remarkable change in global geo-politics ...

.
China and USA's strategy of influence is totally different, when US is engaged with fighting war with terror, china quitely leading the way to source the energy from central asia, which is russia's stronghold and where americans failed misrebly..china is successful to draw her capital market strategy china's trade is now more than russia in the region. unlike NATO, china didn't send force but create a Anti terror devise structure under SCO. hopefully india is responding to changing global equation
Both India and china know that they have more similar than conflicting interests. India and China should resolve the disputed boundary problem and gear up together to expand the strategic opportunities further. ...

I disagree with the title
but OP has some good points.

However my take on this is entirely different
and let me clarify how

The title reflects India of 60s and 70s. Poor, third worlder, looking for dole outs (kind of how Pakistanis think right now)

Fast forward to 2014, Indians must get out of this Poor, third worlder self flagellating pathetic attitude.
and good news is that many among Indian educated elite have come out of that $hitty attitude already.
But Indian media baboos and those who were born before 60s are still Poor, third worlders.

What the fork is wrong with these baboos. What the heck is wrong?

The thread should be about India as world power (and not China world power or US world power)
Why cant it be?
When will the Indian elite learn to stand tall at their own

Why say India benefitting "US-China" rivalry

Why NOT say China benefiting "US-India" rivalry
Or
Why not proclaim US benefiting "China-India" rivalry

No I am not proposing to start an Indian rivalrly against anyone

What I am saying is to let go of being the little guy taking advantage of the fight between two big guys.

That's the attitude I am totally opposed to,.

Stand tall, and stand as power unto yourself

And

for God's sakes quit looking at other powers as bigger than yours.
Sure the reality "at the moment" may show some countries bigger than India

But make sure soon you all reach a level
where a Chinese media person should be writing an article "China can be pivot in US-India rivalry, get benefits from both"
where an American media person should be writing an article "US can be pivot in India-China rivalry, get benefits from both"

Stand tall my neighbors.

Stand for something.

peace and biryani (meat taken out for veg-people :D)

p.s. And I sure hope, my fellow countrymen too develop some spine, work their backs off like S Koreans, Chinese, Indians etc, improve economy and finally finally finally learn to stand tall based on prosperous economy and not based on broken, toota phoota, criminal enterprise like North Korea or Iran or Syria or Somalia or Islamisht Emirates of Afghanistan.

looks like it is left to us biharis to enlighten our countrymen. :D

@FaujHistorian

Yeh baat hai. That is how the nationalists in India think.

Thank you

And I hope my fellow countrymen learn to work hard, improve economy, and then stand tall as well,

Prosperous neighbors are happy neighbors

should be

our common motto

As I said in my earlier post

I sure hope, my fellow countrymen too develop some spine, work their backs off like S Koreans, Chinese, Indians etc, improve economy and finally finally finally learn to stand tall based on prosperous economy and not based on broken, toota phoota, criminal enterprise like North Korea or Iran or Syria or Somalia or Islamisht Emirates of Afghanistan.

Fine India, China, and the United States can develop strong and amicable economic ties...but I am pessimist about this kinda triangular relationship.
Our dear neighbor Panda bear has become quite a beast and the Tiger in India cant take over it.The naval footprint of both the countries are growing and this could be the impetus for a conflict in Indo-Pacific.
India must look outside and make new friends like Japan and other countries. But I agree India has more to gain from its partnerships with Russia,Pakistan and China because of its geographical location.
US and its high handedness has to end and for that these Asians countries must unite....
