NEW DELHI: India came close to striking Pakistan following the 26/11 Mumbai terrorists attack. This was stated by the IAF chief, Air Chief Marshal Fali H Major, on Wednesday.

“There were certain options, which were certainly discussed. Depending on the objective and the task given, IAF had enough intelligence to do what it wanted to do then,” ACM Major told reporters here during a joint press conference with his successor and IAF chief-designate Air Marshal PV Naik.

ACM Major, however, said at present the situation along the international border and the LoC was normal. In the eastern sector along the India-China border, ACM Major said the IAF is building landing infrastructure and will shortly move a Sukhoi-30 squadron to counter Chinese defence superiority in the region.


The newly-raised squadron of Su-30 will arrive at IAF’s Tezpur base in the next few weeks, he said. Commenting on the recent Suhkoi crash, the air chief said an inquiry is still on and the crash data recorder is yet to be analysed.

IAF feared their jets might shot down and that will add great insult to already dented history of IAF vs PAF. That’s why they keep begging USA to pressurise Pakistan to strike inside without hindrance from PAF.

Secondly, PAF will retaliate by counter-striking into Indian’s territory.

In 1965 Iaf was 3 times bigger then PAF, but now gap is decreasing, it's now 2 time bigger!

Agree with you, no one wants war, its some Governments and some bunch of ppls who dont like peace so create these kind of situation, or else common living being can live with each other in a peacefull manner, as they get whats important for living.

BTW can you single out any thread which seems ridicule to you? All threads are based on news.

Ask your IAF chiefs which are living in inferiority complex to stop mentioning "JF-17 a superior jet" and ashamed of poor history of IAF against PAF.

Demand your govt. to appoint sane chief who ONLY issue statements which comforts & soothes Indians badly hurt ego & esteem.

Learn to accept the bitter facts as well. Sorry for the language, which usually I'm not accustomed too.

IAF chiefs has the full right to say what he wants for say. Nither I nor you can stop him from saying that, its his point of view. See if JF-17 is a good or bad machine then also IAF will mentioned it and try to get the counter for it if required, and that how the world works, i dont that needs to be told to you. You would be very well aware of this.

its been long time both countires AF have not going head to head, so cannot clarify who is better, but both can give a tough time to each other for sure. Ya considering the count PAF has improved a lot.

But dont want, such thing to happen as it effect common man more than anything else.

i have not marked finger to anyone, its up to your to think who it could be or make any thing out of it.
