According to a Karnataka’s Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani, a detailed project report for the proposed high-speed bullet train from Chennai to Mysore via Bangalore will be ready by December.

Agreed, the distance is 476 KM total project will be nothing less than 80,000 crores, NE requires a lot of attention.

15 Billion for a less than 500 KM network is a big enough budget for lot of countries to be interested in.

the french do have awesome expertise and have been a friend through spring and storm.this would be wise.

Seriously, India should first upgrade the existing system until the fastest train can reach 200 km/h and the slowest at least 160 km/h throughout the network. After that India can consider HSR and Siemens is more than happy to provide you the technology.

Improve the current railway infrastructure.
Facilitate greater connectivity to the north-east.
Improve the normal trains plying between important stations.
Improve the train lavatory.
Improve the infrastructure in railway stations and provide basic amenities at EVERY station.

I scoff at the idiot who came up with this scheme. Lets improve what we have already. Bullet train is an un-necessary luxury we can do away with until the basic infrastructure is modernized and brought to international standards.

Its just another financial hell-hole that we don't need to deal with.
